Baroness X Poison Apple

*press sample

  I see red.

The lovely Demi of Baroness X graciously noted my love of all things crimson and offered to send me a bottle of Poison Apple, a deep and delectable brown-red from her Snow White collection.  How could I say no?  This thing is gorgeous.  And is it just me, or does this work as a Marsala polish, too?

Baroness X Poison Apple

Poison Apple is a jelly based polish with a subtle, non-spectraflair scattered holo effect.  The idea, and the point, is to let the richness of the base take center stage in any light, and be adorned by a demure rainbow with a propensity towards golden.  It works beautifully.  I adore this polish.

The formula is nice-- the brush does tend to overload but the polish consistency is easy as pie to control, so the inevitable pooling in the middle of the nail is easily rectified.  I used three coats-- you could get away with two but do yourself a favor and let the richness and depth really shine through with three-- and one layer of topcoat.

Poison Apple and the rest of the Snow White collection are available for sale through baronessx.com and Baroness X's etsy shop.

Thank you for reading and have a lovely day!! ♥

    1. I wonder that, myself! If I remember correctly, the KB is linear and spectraflair, right?

  13. It's great to see a true red holo, even if it's scattered. Very pretty!

    1. I don't feel like this is a true red (too much brown) but it is nice to see one that doesn't border on quinacridone (not that I'm picky, lol).
