Not-So-Random Sunday Swatches

*BadAss Polish press sample

It's a cool and stormy Sunday here and I've got black tea with cream in hand and a purring baby Beau on my lap.  Life is good.
I love pulling out old pretties and reshowing them and I've been particularly excited to have carte blanche the past few days and shop my stash a little.  NARS Storm Bird is one of my very favorites.   Its classic yet edgy nimbus grey is just perfect for this time of year and its formula is impeccable.  I used two coats.

I did this layering combo a few weeks ago and loved it.  I don't know why I didn't post about it then but I really felt like wearing it again, so here it is, lol.  BadAss Polish looks to be making a resurgence, if the rumblings on their facebook page is any indication.  Dusk was one of their first releases, a cerulean blue and gold glitter in a clear base that jazzes up whatever blue toned polish it touches.  My friend Christine at Polished Marvels gifted me with Max Factor Graffiti (from the same collection as Fantasy Fire, incidentally) a while back and its shimmery, watery teal foil is a gorgeous backdrop to Dusk.  I used two coats of Graffiti and one of Dusk, plus two thin layers of topcoat.

I love this duo so much!  I could stare at it all day (and I likely will, lol).  And with that, my creative juices are about tapped out and I'm going to go squeeze in a workout, get some chores done, and take a nap.

Have a cozy day and thank you for reading. ♥♥

  1. Oh my WORD, I love that blue creation. It's perfection. And don't you just love blurry bottle shots?? It's like when you're sleepy and looking at the Christmas tree at night. <3 I love it that you and Christine are shopping your collections. :)

    1. Omgosh, your Christmas tree analogy is spot on! I just like the depth but now it's even cooler, lol. Shopping the stash is fun! I suppose I don't *need* to post everything, but that's fun, too :)

    1. Ahhh Absolutely Alice <3 That one's a stand alone, too, isn't it? I wonder how many layers this would take to be opaque...

    1. NARS cremes are remarkably opaque. I just love them, lol. And isn't that shimmer amazing?!

  5. Hi sis, oh gosh that Nars is so classy on you!!!! And Dusk gives such a insane sparkle - totally captivating!!! I really like to see posts of stuff from the stash - there are so many nailpolish users out there who might not be such avid collectors for new stuff and I remember the days when I was among them and no-one ever showed older polishes and all I could find were pictures from archives without any text. So YAY for shop the stash posts :-)!!!! <3

    1. Exactly :) Plus, we acquired all these polishes because we like them and it's such a waste not to trot them out when we want to! Btw Graffiti is gorgeous on its own, too, but after discovering this little duo, I can't leave well enough alone! Thank you for the beauty, sis :)

  6. Your day sounds heavenly. When it's rainy and cold outside, there's nothing I like better than to curl up under a blanket with a hot cup of tea. :) Love both of these on you! Storm Bird is a lovely gray on you and Dusk over Graffiti looks so sparkly and bold! :D

    1. It was :) Actually looking forward to things getting cooler but rainstorms are always welcome (unless they last for weeks on end, which they tend to around here, as you're well aware....)
