  Gotta love social media contests, especially when you didn't even know you entered.  I posted a photo of my January 2015 Wantable accessories box on my instagram shortly after I received the box, both tagging @Wantable and using the #Wantable hashtag.  A few days later, I received notifications that they had chosen my photo as their #photofriday winner.  It turns out the Wantable powers that be choose an uploaded customer IG photo of one of their latest collections each Friday, and the winner gets a free box of his or her choosing.  Credits are deposited in the winner's account to be redeemed whenever he or she is ready.  So anyway, yeah, I won!  I decided to go for the March accessories box.

Ashley Bridget Accessories

  Facebook generally does a terrible job of pinpointing my interests, let alone selling me things, but a few weeks ago, they got it spot-on.  New York City based accessories designer Ashley Bridget apparently took out some fb ad space and her black and silver Lord of the Rings inspired Baggins bracelet caught my eye, which led to a sweet little discount code and a necklace purchase.

Wantable Accessories Box-- January 2015

  It's been a full year since I've done a Wantable accessories box.  My interest in accessories waxes and wanes, and I seem to feel particularly adventurous during the chilly months.  My experience with these boxes has ranged from excellent to dubious.  I love being surprised, though, so I felt ready to take a chance on another one of these fun boxes (follow either of the prior links for full details on how the program works).

  As my experience with Wantable grows, my mind opens to the possibilities of what I might receive; I've learned to be very specific on my questionnaire but there is still a LOT left to interpretation.  The coolest thing about the service is how it gets you to step outside your comfort zone.  I'm not a fashion risk taker, but these boxes have encouraged me to experiment in ways beyond accessories, which is very cool.

  Hi everyone!!  I just started an instagram challenge for the month of July, and the first task was to post our June favorites, and I decided to do a full blog spot on them, since I haven't done that for a while (welcome to my stream of consciousness).

  I've really been having fun playing around with accessories and I found myself drawn to chunky necklaces and menswear inspired watches.

Accessories Challenge-- Fred Meyer Apparel

  Hi everyone!!  I've gotten the Wantable subscription service accessories box twice now, and I consider myself a fan.  I love the idea of someone else shopping for me based on a list of my tastes, I love the element of surprise, and I love how the addition of a new piece encourages some thinking outside the box in terms of my own style.  The last time I got the box (reviewed HERE) had me a little curious about the monetary value the service actually provides, though, especially since I saw the very same scarf I'd received on sale at Fred Meyer.  This month, I decided, rather than buy the box, to make myself a challenge-- to find three comparable quality pieces for at or under Wantable's subscriber price of $36 per box.

  I decided to shop Fred Meyer because they do have a nice accessories section, and if you know anything about the chain, you know that there is always a sale happening and often a coupon to supplement.  I lucked out and got both.  In the spirit of spring, I decided to go a little delicate and chose a sheer, silky scarf, a silver plated chain clasp bracelet, and a pair of tortoiseshell wraparound sunglasses.

  Hi everyone!!  You've probably heard of Wantable, a subscription service providing a choice of makeup, intimates, or accessories boxes, by now.  It's pretty basic-- you fill out a questionnaire based on your style and tastes, and you get three to four pieces selected just for you.  I got the accessories box back in September and I absolutely loved what I got (full post here)-- pieces that were totally me, but that I might not have been adventurous enough to choose myself.  I've been wanting to give the service another shot ever since.

Helloooo!!  I have something new and a little different to share with you all today.  I started nail blogging with no clue (in fact, I never even read blogs until I started my own) and no goal other than to be first in a google search (seriously... try not to judge) and I named it as a spinoff of my food blog, which has since gone the way of the dodo.  The cool thing is how all-encompassing the name ended up being and how much it allows for growth.  So I hope, as I find my footing in writing about it, that accessories, and possibly more fashion related things, will become regularly interspersed amongst my nail and makeup posts and I really hope you all stick around! ♥
