Gotta love social media contests, especially when you didn't even know you entered. I posted a photo of my January 2015 Wantable accessories box on my instagram shortly after I received the box, both tagging @Wantable and using the #Wantable hashtag. A few days later, I received notifications that they had chosen my photo as their #photofriday winner. It turns out the Wantable powers that be choose an uploaded customer IG photo of one of their latest collections each Friday, and the winner gets a free box of his or her choosing. Credits are deposited in the winner's account to be redeemed whenever he or she is ready. So anyway, yeah, I won! I decided to go for the March accessories box.
Wantable Accessories Box-- March 2015 |
I decided to deviate from the norm with this box and configure my loves, likes, and dislikes a little differently. I've learned that "statement" means you're probably going to get big paste stone pieces, so I left that off my love/like list and stuck with "everyday", which, as you see, equates to pieces that are plenty bold. I disregarded my weakness for sunglasses and scarves and ignored my propensity for all things classic and took a chance on rings and "boho" style. I was not disappointed-- this box might be my favorite to date!
Dolly necklace |
The Dolly necklace is a highly wearable art deco-ish piece with mint green stones and goldtone chain and accents. Wantable's style tip suggests pairing this with "a long gold simple necklace" but I like this all on its own, and that green is surprisingly versatile.
Lexia earrings |
Filigree is always a winner in my book. The gold tone Lexia earrings are in reality about an inch in diameter and pair nicely with the Dolly necklace (and that's bold enough for me). Wantable's style tip for these is to "wear with a red lip". Um, okay! Because you all know I need convincing.
Sophie ring |
The last ring I received from Wantable was a disaster, but I know exactly what I chose to warrant that decision on the stylist's part (and believe you me, I haven't chosen that option since). This time around? Awesome! The Sophie ring is a set of three gold tone stackable rings, very fantastical and Tolkien-esque in feel and really quite delicate. The far left ring resembles a branch or twig, the middle is a pebble, and the far right is kind of a tree bark texture. This set represents the best things about Wantable-- I've never seen anything like it; I never would have chosen it for myself, even if I had seen it; but, I LOVE it.
Jessie necklace |
Wantable loves their big paste stones and they LOOOOVE their avant garde metal pieces. These, like the stones, are highly preferential and can definitely be hit or miss. I've seen a lot of their metal pieces around the blogosphere that have had me raising a serious eyebrow. This Jessie necklace? I like it. It's certainly the wild card of this particular box but it's got an exotic flavor which I love (thank you, "boho") and the metal charms are delicate. I fancy myself picking something like this up at a soukh, should I ever be afforded such an opportunity. Wantable's style tip for this necklace is to "pair (it) with your favorite cozy v-neck sweater". Perfect. I can also see it with a cool print sarong dress this summer.
If you're interested in trying out the Wantable accessories box, or one of their other tailor made boxes (makeup, intimates, or fitness), I invite you to click {HERE} and take one of the quizzes. Don't forget to upload and tag your instagram photos, too, for a chance to win your own complimentary box!
Thank you for reading and have a lovely day!! ♥
Nice goodies. I'm loving the rings! :-)
ReplyDeleteInteresting fact about me...I don't have my ears pierced!
Really? That's actually kind of cool. I have mine done three times but I hardly wear one pair any more.
DeleteSome awesome statement pieces!
ReplyDeleteI like 'em :) ♥
DeleteOh I love the rings! I have super sensitive ears so I always have to be careful with those but the rest of the prices are great!
ReplyDeleteMine have gotten more sensitive over the years (probably from not wearing on a daily basis). Sometimes I just don't care, though, and end up paying the price ;)
DeleteHow awesome to win a contest you didn't know you entered! lol These pieces are so unique, I especially love that ring!
ReplyDeleteThank you!! Yeah, it was super cool, especially since I dig Wantable. Maybe I should've tried a different box but these accessories boxes are just so much fun, lol :)
DeleteThese pieces are gorgeous... I love Gold so I love to see earrings like those that will have a statement but not be drastic. Gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteThank you!! Wantable did a fantastic job this month, I've read so many great reviews on the March boxes. And yes, statement but nothing over the top is always good :)
DeleteI like the Dolly necklace and the rings. You're right; statement usually means large paste stones and garishness.
ReplyDeleteAll things in moderation ;) Garish can be fun, lol.
DeleteSo pretty, I love the Dolly necklace. :)
ReplyDeleteMe, too! ♥
DeleteSo pretty, I love the Dolly necklace. :)
ReplyDeleteI have a necklace or three very much like the Jessie. I like that and the earrings a lot. I'm not a boho girl at all and love my garish statement necklaces. :)
ReplyDeleteOh, right there with ya. I used to think they were the tackiest looking things known to man but I've since opened my mind ;)
DeleteLove that Dolly necklace so much! Congrats on winning!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Stephanie! I was so surprised, lol :)
