LVX Fall 2013 collection

Hi everyone!!  I've got a few full collections on deck for the coming week, and first off, it's my pleasure to bring you my favorite fall collection of polishes this year.
LVX (pronounced Lux, Latin for Light) is a high end company that draws its color inspiration straight from the runways and executes that vision in a most elegant fashion.  This fall's collection of six are red-hot colors in that most classic and elegant finish, creme.  I've been almost giddily excited about this set since I first laid eyes on it.

First up is Cliquot, a seductively demure rosy nude.  Three coats.

Dahlia, a glossy and vampy burgundy, more of a creme-jelly hybrid.  Three coats.

Viridis, an elegant emerald-leaning teal.  Three coats.

Relique, a classic taupe.  Three coats.

Cashmere, a soft, creamy wintry grey.  Three coats.

Azzurrum, a deep, rich true navy blue.  Two coats.

I don't think I've ever come across a collection with such consistency in formula.  All six of these applied with remarkable ease, and with the exception of Azzurrum's two, all streak and patch free, even the light colors, in three coats.  These ring in at $16 each for a 15ml bottle.  If you're looking to treat yourself to some high quality, classic shades you'll reach for time and time again with superb formulas, I cannot recommend this collection enough.  I can't even pick a favorite from this set-- I adore each and every one.

    1. Thank you!! :) I initially thought Cashmere'd not really be one I liked until I actually put it on, but yeah, it's gorgeous :)

  2. The shades are gorgeous! I'm really loving Relique (looking for one like this) and Cashmere! Btw, do you know of any other cheaper alternatives that's similar to Relique?

    1. Right off the top, Sinful Colors Graine de Poivre and OPI You Don't Know Jacques should be at least similar. I'll try to remember to do a comparison post soon. WetnWild Wet Cement comes to mind, too, but I don't own that one.

  4. I have heard really good things about LVX but have not managed to get any yet. I think they are pretty but maybe a bit pricey for me. They look great on you though.

    1. Thank you <3 They recently held a sale and it might be worth it to pay attention to them on Black Friday.

  5. You're right...all of these are so beautiful. I guess if I HAD to pick a fave, I would choose Azzurrum because it looks like the truest navy polish I ever saw. But goodness, am I loving that crazy-weird taupe! Beautiful photos and a perfect post. <3

    1. Isn't Relique cool? At first I thought it was one if those mushroom colors from the mid-2000s but when I put it on it revealed its true nature, lol :) I'm kind of excited to do a comparison post on it.

  6. My oh my, you sure know how to showcase a whole collection, my dear!!! :D They're all vying for my attention! But mostly Viridis, **Cashmere**, and Relique. Thankfully, I just scored La Moss during that BL sale you told me about, and I have ChG's First Mate which seems to be darn close to Azzurrum... I think you could do a few comparison posts with these! Isn't one of the fall Zoyas from your last major swatch post a lot like Azzurrum as well?
Ugh seriously, your swatches/manis make me want to yell at my nails for not being so perfect!!

    1. ♥♥ I know I said I couldn't choose a favorite but Viridis is amazing... Well, so is Cashmere, that was kind of a surprise. Well, so's Relique, it's so elegant. I hope you swatch La Moss! I'm so glad you got it. First Mate looks lighter and more royal to me. There are so many variances in these blues and it's insane how many one can accumulate. It's not even my favorite color to wear, yet I have more blue cremes than anything else, lol. I'm working on a blue and taupe comparison post right now. And patience, young padawan. Mine are not perfect by any means but it just takes time. It's taken this long for me to take shots of dark cremes I'm actually pleased with, so just keep at it, sweets.

    1. No surprise at all ♥ And I totally agree, there's nothing as timeless and wearable as a good creme. This collection makes me happy, lol :) Thank you for your kind words, as always!

  9. Ooooh, I have been waiting for these:) What awesome swatches - but why didn't you blow these puppies up? I love the colors so much and the packaging is an added bonus. I'm such a sucker for packaging. Relique and Cashmere are my favorites. I think Cashmere is so unique!?

    1. Thank you ♥♥♥ :) The resolution wasn't as good when I blew them up. It seems that's always the way with dark cremes so until I get a better camera, I'm going to keep my dark creme shots large instead of extra large. This is a funny collection-- everything looks like it'd have many copies but they're actually quite unique in their respective families. The only polish I have in my stash that resembles Cashmere, though, is Julep Debra and they're really different. Debra's more of a dirty putty color and not nearly as pretty (but it was perfect as a base for my sock mani, lol).
