Good morning!! This is the without a doubt the least creative I've been with a name in Gosia's ABC challenge. For the letters R and S I made a Red Sandwich. Lots o' thought went into that one. But, I'm stoked about having done my first glitter sandwich, and while I prefer my reds straight up and creamy, this does look pretty freakin' rad. ;)
In case you're wondering, a jelly/glitter sandwich is a technique in which you layer a glitter polish between two or more coats of a sheer, or jelly, polish, allowing the glitter to peek through at less intensity. The result is a nifty, suspended in plasma effect. It's super easy and really fun to look at. It's fun to take pictures of, too... I can't seem to narrow it down from four... You have been warned!!
I used one coat of Ulta Red Carpet Red, a really lovely blue red jelly, one coat of Milani Jewel FX in Red, a simple, red hex glitter, another coat of Red Carpet Red, and a topcoat, which in no way detracts from the squishy feel of this.
Looks wonderful! I love it. Good job girly:)
ReplyDeleteThank you veddy much!! I kind of want to try it with some blues.
DeleteYeah, like Beauty Scraps this week? I forgot, was that a sandwich or was that one polish? I just keep seeing the thumbnail above. So pretty!
DeleteThat is a sandwich, at least on one or two nails... I really like the ChG she used, but I want to try more of an aqua; like the color scheme on Enha's Watermark album.
DeleteAw thanks ladies! I am drooling over this one! I love me some jelly sandwiches :) I need to get Ulta Red Carpet Red so I can copy you! I don't seem to have a red jelly... I need to fix that ;)
DeleteThis is so squishy and pretty! I love it! I like that you used red glitter for the sandwich.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Kelly :) I don't know what other color I would've used, honestly....
Deleteoooh that's gorgeous! I've never done a jelly sandwich before, but I think you might have just inspired me! haha I like your reasoning for the R and S letters. :D

Any port in a storm, lol. ;) I've been wanting to try one for a while, but I seem to have a real problem buying glitters (or not buying them, as the case may be). ;p
DeleteI like the monochromatic glitter sandwich!
ReplyDeleteMe, too! ;)
DeleteI love it Liesl! They look like juicy strawberries! Everyone should love jelly sandwiches! I pity the fool who doesn't -=X
ReplyDeleteRofl. Mr. T approves!! Thanks, Cee :) :)
DeleteI would wear this to a date night with the bf! A red jelly sandwich how sexy is that?
ReplyDeleteMy DH said it looks like a fancy bowling ball, bless his heart. ;)
DeleteWell, if it makes you feel any better, I've got nothing from here through X... ;p
ReplyDeleteI am embarrassed to admit I've never made a jelly sandwich. I love the way they look, always so very glossy with glitter shining through :) Your is great, and red is such an empowering colour to wear.
ReplyDeleteOk a fancy bowling ball? LOL I love reading your comments as much as your posts.
Aw, thanks, Karen! :D My DH is a constant source of entertainment, believe me. And don't be embarrassed, silleh. ;) It took me this long to try one.
DeleteI'm with Karen, I've never done a sandwich before... and I love reading comments too!! My DH is very entertaining too, he comes up with the funniest associations for my polish haha (there was a post once where he said that my nails look like a little leprechaun projectile vomited all over my nails..)!!
ReplyDeleteRofl. Seriously, bless them for their stark honesty. <3
DeleteI love red glitter and this is a great jelly sammie :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Ameerah :) I like it a lot! (Said in the voice of Floyd from Dumb and Dumber.)
DeleteSo squishy and yummy looking! me likes..
ReplyDeleteThanks, Lizzy! Jelly sandwiches are quite tastie. ;)
DeleteThis is such a gorgeous combination!! OMG I am so sorry, I just realised that I had not been following your blog!! D: (But I fixed that!) :D
ReplyDeleteLol, no worries! You are certainly not required to, but thanks for doing so! ;) :)
