Butter London Shag

Good morning!!  Butter London's been my favorite polish brand for a while now, and I'm loving all the swatches I'm seeing from the Ulta and Coterie sales.  I admit to being underwhelmed at the fall/winter collection, though, mainly because I was hoping for some good cremes (Butter makes the BEST cremes).  I took a chance during the Ulta sale and picked up two of the new ones, Dodgy Barnett (which you know I lurve) and Shag.  I don't even remember what prompted that one.  I must have read or seen something that convinced me to try it.  I'm glad I did, because this stuff is liquid burnished copper magic.

I think someone said Shag's the color of burning leaves, and that description made it official that I had to have it.  It's a fiery copper metallic with red, gold, even a bit of green shimmer, and the most surprisingly beautiful color I've seen this fall.  I used three coats (mostly because it's one of those colors that is fascinating when wet) and the formula's typical Butter London perfection.

You may or may not have noticed my photos are back to their regular size....  The positive response to the extra large ones was overwhelming, which I think is very cool, considering my photos aren't anywhere near perfect.  So thank you gals for the votes of confidence. <3  I'm an odd bird, I guess, in that I actually prefer smaller ones and I like how they look with the rest of my blog.  I'll probably feel bad for not listening to you guys and change the size again this evening or something, but in the meantime PLEASE DON'T STOP READING because I like my photos smaller... lool.
Anyway... Enjoy your day and thanks again for being awesome. <3

  1. Stunning color! This is exactly the sort of shade I think of when I think of fall. :-)
As for the pictures, I think a smaller size is preferable (so load time is not too long), as I as I can click and see a larger version if I want more details, which is exactly what you have. <3

    1. Right? Especially when the post is pic-heavy (which I tend to do, lol). I like a more true to life size, I think, and if your lighting's good you can still see plenty of detail. Thanks, Yun :)

  4. No worries about pictures, Liesl, I will read no matter what!!! And I'm sooo glad I got Shag during the BOGO sale!! of course I haven't tried it yet, it has to sit its time away on the shelf (pathetic, haha), but I'm so glad I have it now that I look at your pics!!! Ulta has another one of those sales so I think I will get Dodgy Barnett this time!! Your pictures of it persuaded me =))

  10. This looks really pretty. I don't usually go for metallic shades at all, but I could do this one...so pretty. I don't have one Butter London yet! Ugh! Must rectify this very soon!

  11. This color is so perfect for fall! It's still 100 degrees here in So Cal so it might be awhile until I can enjoy fall polish though :(

    1. Oh my. Well, it's not quite as warm just north of you, but we're still enjoying an Indian summer, 75 to mid 80s and such.
