Julep Molly (photo heavy)

Monday off a super busy weekend... My sister's wedding was on Saturday so the last few days have been filled with pre- and post-wedding errands and get-togethers... the bride and groom's son's second birthday was yesterday... then after all that, our own house was a  mess, so I kicked into full on cleaning mode for a couple hours late last night.  And my nails looked fab through it all.

I take back anything bad I ever said about Julep's weartime.  I applied Julep Molly on Friday evening and it lasted through all Saturday wedding shenanigans including hot-rollering my hair and on through Sunday and washing a sinkful of dishes, sweeping and mopping all floors, cleaning the bathroom sink, dealing with an awesome washing machine snafu, etc. etc.  No chips.  Nothing.  Just creamy red perfection with a tiny bit of tipwear by the end of the weekend.  Here it is all fresh and pretty.

I chose Molly as an add-on to my introductory Julep Maven box.  Molly is a saturated true red creme, entirely classic in color and finish.  One of the things I love about reds is their ability to invoke a certain era, like the '40s pinup look of Zoya America, the old Hollywood glamour of Butter London Come To Bed Red, and the flapperesque Zoya Rekha.  Julep Molly transcends them all, is timeless, bold, and utterly tasteful.  It's the perfect day to day red.

Application is as to be expected with Julep's bottle design.  A lot of excess polish will have to be wiped off the brush to account for the extra on the long brush stem.  I find reds in general to be a little on the advanced side to apply simply because they look best done with precision.  I used two coats plus topcoat.

The wedding colors were yellow and dark purple.  My sis was super lax in how she wanted her bridesmaids to look and she happily allowed us to let our personalities shine through the choices we made.  The above is a shot with my dress...

...and my shoes, complete with Butter London Come To Bed Red toesies (speaking of).  If you follow on facebook or instagram, you might have seen the pedicure I did for my niece, aka the maid of honor.  She and the bride had fun going through my stash of purple and yellow polishes.

C and I at the pre-reception and photo shoot in my parents' front yard.  It was the most beautiful day, sunny, clear, upper '70s, just perfect.

My seesters and I pre-ceremony in my parents' kitchen (smaller because the photo's a little grainy).

Okay, you can go now :) Thanks for reading and enjoy the start to your week!  Oh, if you're looking to become a Julep Maven, feel free to use my referral link.  You get your killer intro deal if you use FREEBOX in the coupon code section and I get points to get sweet deals on future polishes.

    1. Oh, thank you, Sara! :) The dress is super fun and it's not really bridesmaid-y so I'll get to wear it lots this summer. And I'm fairly certain that red is my teal ;)
