Good morning friends :) Do you feel like life just kind of amps up as soon as September hits? For as busy as summer is, nothing really slows down and right now I think we've got something going on every weekend until mid October, lol. It's all good and C and I are blessed to have a full life but I'm seriously looking forward to the next weekend we can spend largely in our pjs.
This weekend I attended the baby shower of a very good girlfriend and this little duo of polishes would've been so adorably appropriate. She and her husband are opting not to learn the gender but the vast majority of us there think she's having a boy. C actually dreamed it and he's got a track record of being correct about such things ;)
These two beauties are from Alanna Renee's new Bundle Of Joy collection. It's A Boy! is great. I'm always happy to see a stand alone polish from an indie and Alanna Renee does stand alone glitters perfectly, so I was really excited to get to try one of her new cremes. It's A Boy! is a cool toned baby blue creme with a very subtle pearlescent shimmer. The shimmer is barely visible on the nail; it makes the creme a little less glossy, and it aids in the formula, which glides on like butter. It's A Boy! is opaque in two coats.
Snips & Snails & Puppy Dog Tails is a corresponding glitter topper with tiny, kind of dusty medium blue and red glitters and medium sized hexes of the same color. They're super reflective and flash all sorts of different colors as the light hits them. I used one coat of Snips & Snails & Puppy Dog Tails as my accents.
Alanna Renee glitters take the most excellent bottle shots ♥♥♥
The set is rounded out with a matching It's A girl! creme and glitter, and a pale yellow creme. Perfect shower favors, right? They're just so pretty and versatile, though, that they'll be a joy, lolol, to wear all year 'round.
The entire Alanna Renee Bundle Of Joy collection is available for purchase internationally at color4nails.com for $10 a bottle.

Thank you for reading and have a marvelous day! ♥♥

I'm a fan of people not finding out - it's exciting to find out when the baby actually comes :) This is a very cool mani. I love when you accent the two nails:)
ReplyDeleteI imagine it would be but I'd have to know, lol. Apparently I'm the biggest control freak amongst my friends ;)
DeleteI get Snips & Snails & Puppy Dog Tails for the name alone. I do love how great those polishes look paired though.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it the cuuuutest?! Such a gorgeous glitter, too.
DeleteI love blues like this. Very pretty!
ReplyDeleteOh so do I :)
DeleteIt sounds like you and your hubby have a full rest of the year but like you said, you are blessed to have lots of family and friends around!! I'm too much of a control freak to not know the gender, my OCD kicks in and I go into planning overdrive! I definitely give props to those who can wait because patience is not a virtue that I possess! It's a Boy! is so pretty! Is is just a bit similar to Sinful Colors Cinderella in terms of the shade of blue? Snips & Snails & Puppy Dog Tails looks perfect on top of It's a Boy! I think I may need both of these ;-) Beautiful swatches as always, I love your nails!!
ReplyDeleteThat is exactly what I said above, lol, control freak here, too! Plus I'd have sooo much fun getting blue or pink things. Yellow & green are fine but not the same, lol :)
DeleteI never drew the Cinderella comparison but you're right, they are the same shade... this one is way more opaque but it'd make a perfect base for Cinderella... Must do that soon. I've been wanting to wear Cinderella again, anyway, thanks for the inspiration ♥ and the kind words about my nailses ♥
Hehe it's cute that you hubby has an intuition about these things. :) That blue is really pretty and creamy! And I love anything with shimmers in it. :)

Tee hee, I know you do :) It is pretty cool! I'm confident he'll be right on again. He's not the only one in our circle who has dreamed boy, though that gal thinks girl, lol.
DeleteGreat pastel blue and you pictures are wonderful!!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, love :)
DeleteI LOVE this. This is seriously the perfect baby blue, and the slightest hint of shimmer makes it even prettier. The glitter is a bit unexpected with all the red, but I love it!
ReplyDeleteIt is perfect, like that Zoya from this past spring but with a less temperamental formula (and the Zoya wasn't even bad!) I adore Alanna Renee glitters (never thought I'd say that about any glitter, lol). They're so sparkly and so unique. SHe's got a great sense of self and style in her line.
DeleteHow cute! That blue is seriously the perfect baby boy shade!
ReplyDeleteI know it! She really nailed this one (though to be honest, she usually does ♥).
DeleteThe glitter looks lovely with the baby blue shade...
ReplyDeleteI agree! AR does such a nice job.
DeleteBeautiful polishes, nails, photos sis!!! I think that shimmer we see so often in polishes as of late should less be visible to the nail but enhance saturation of the color adding depth - and to find a baby boy blue that applies effortlessly is rare!!! I am curious if C's intuition will prove right ;-)
ReplyDeleteYou're right! I didn't think of it strictly being used for practical purposes, but why not? And I think it will :) I'll let you know in two months. ;)
DeleteWhat a fabulous baby blue! I really love all the Alanna Renee polishes.. Mostly because of the Magical World collection lol. I am a huge fan of indie-tastic glitters and Snips & Sails & Puppy Dog Tails definitely is one! :D
ReplyDeleteIndie-tastic :) Good word, and so apt. They're just so creative and full of energy and when they're done well, they are fabulous! And I can honestly say myself that ARs are one of the most consistently exciting and high quality indie polishes out here right now. You have excellent taste, Clare :)
DeleteI need both of these! =) Love them both, and Snips & Snails is worth it for the name alone.
ReplyDeleteYOU definitely need these! I should have dedicated this post to you!
