OPI is just knocking it out of the park this year! And thank heaven for their mini sets, I've purchased each of the three released this year, so far. Hot on the shelves right now is the Bond Girls Liquid Sand collection, and as far as I'm concerned, there isn't a dud in the bunch. This makes this mini set a sure shot and a great option if you're not looking to invest a bunch of money in this year's textured finish trend.
First up is Jinx, named for Halle Berry's character in Die Another Day.
Jinx is a perfectly balanced pinky-orange coral packed with gold and orange shimmers. It reminds me of a glassfleck finish, if you were to take away the smoothness factor (and, it leaves shimmer all over your fingers during removal, just like a glassfleck). Formula and application are both second to none-- Jinx is opaque in the standard two coats and applying this in a perfect half moon is ridiculously easy. I don't do any brush cleanup around my cutes anyway, but my manis seldom turn out this neat.
I admit I haven't been very excited about wearing these textured polishes on my own nails, but this collection is just full of gorgeous. The fact that these are named after iconic Bond girls gives the collection some special energy and makes the colors particularly fun to wear.
Thanks for reading, and have an amazing day!! ♥♥
Now I think I need to buy that one! :-D together with Solitare :)
ReplyDelete:D Solitaire is GORGIE!!
DeleteWhat beautiful pics Liesl! WOW! I was waiting for you to try a textured polish:)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Essie :) I actually tried and posted about the Liquid Sand in the Oz collection, but these are much prettier ;)
DeleteThis is definitely my favorite from this collection and you wear it well!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Becca :)
DeleteDon't you just love i?. Jinx is my favorite. It's gorgeous on you :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Rhonda :) I do love it, it's liquid amazing, lol :)
DeleteWhat a gorgeous color! Great photos as usual. I'm not a big texture fan but would love to own a polish this color.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Sara :) I don't remember if I saw you comment on Mommy Does Her Nails' fb post last night? There's a dupe for half the price in the Julie G Gumdrop collection.
DeleteVery pretty swatches :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, sweets :) :)
DeleteHi sis - whoazers now we are truly synched - guess what will be on my nails tomorrow!!! And a high five to have you in the textured polish band!!! Great post and so perfectly worded. I have not seen a mini set available at my Opi watering hole online so I got myself only three of the Bond Girls but Jinx surely was the first in my Shopping Cart!!! Have a lovely day too :-)
ReplyDeleteWhy am I not surprised? ;) :) Thank you for your lovely words, as always :) I can't wait to see what else you chose-- I will guess Tiffany Case and Vesper. ;) Lovely day to you, too, sis!
DeleteThis one is super gorgeous. I wasn't interested in trying the textured trend but all of these pretties that have been released lately got me thinking otherwise. lol. :)
ReplyDeleteTrue story! ;) I'm excited to see the new Zoyas, too, but this collection has totally wowed me.
DeleteI'm not crazy about the textured trend, but this one - Jinx and Tiffany Case are the two OPI polishes that I wouldn't mind trying. This looks stunning on you!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Crystal :) Tiffany Case looks completely, ridiculously awesome and even though I told myself I wasn't going to buy a full sized bottle of a trend polish, all I can think as I'm writing my responses is how bad I neeeeed it, lol ;)
DeleteThat's the best one out of the collection, and I'm not even an orange girl. Do you have Zoya Destiny? I'd be interested to see a comparison.
ReplyDeleteI don't! However (in a roundabout sort of way), Mommy Does Her Nails has a dupe post up of this and a Julie G Gumdrop, and Confessions of a Sarcastic Mom has a Gumdrop vs. Zoya Pixiedust post up. Hope that helps :)
DeleteThat one looks so pretty on you! I love it!! I haven't tried a single one of the OPI liquid sands, but I'm slowly warming up to the idea of textures. It's.. different.
ReplyDeleteIt is :) This is the first (and so far, only, but I'll wait to pass full judgment on the Zoyas until I see them in person) collection of textured polishes I've really liked. And thank you :)
DeleteThat polish looks awesome on you! Those are the best swatches I've seen of Jinx, might have to pick that up now -- my nails were too short to sample it to see the full effect :x
ReplyDeleteOh wow, thank you so much! :) I bet it looks just beautiful on your nails
DeleteFantastic swatches, Liesl! You really captured the sparkle of the textured polish! This color is beautiful on you. :-)
ReplyDelete~ Yun
Thanks, Yun :) You pretty much sold me on this collection ;)
DeleteLooks great on you. This is the type of polish that would make me keep on glancing down at my nails.
ReplyDeleteOh, trust me. I've been doing that all day. ;) And thank you :)
DeleteLove! Such a pretty color.
ReplyDeleteIt it! I'm tempted to try it on my toesies this summer ;)
DeleteI HAVE WANTED THIS ONE SINCE I FIRST LAID EYES ON IT!!!! Not sure exactly why, but it calls out to me. ;-) I'm still anxiously awaiting my shipment with Zoya Vespa to try out the textured trend.
ReplyDeleteIt's pretty smokin'. And sparkly. It's definitely the sparkliest of the bunch ;)
DeleteMy roommate was gonna pick it up for me today, but apparently they can't keep these on the shelves! Good for OPI, sad face for me! :( I'm considering getting the mini set, since it has Jinx and I'm pretty sure I want Vesper too, and the others included are also intriguing. I'm curious, how long do YOU think the minis would last, since you need so many coats???
DeleteWell, this one only needs two. I'd guess it'll give you 15 manis. My Ulta just restocked. I've been on the lookout for Tiffany Case and got one, ,ut you're right, Jinx is nowhere in sight! Have you looked on Ulta's website, or Bloom? Maybe you should pick up the minis, just in case ;)
