Sinful Colors SinfulShine Mirror Mirror

Morning, friends!!  I've been kind of excited to try Sinful Colors' new "luxury" collection, SinfulShine, a line that costs a whole dollar more than regular line Sinful Colors (ringing in at a whopping $2.99) and boasts a gel manicure-like shine in a traditional polish, a look achieved without topcoat.  I chose a classic and on trend for fall burgundy creme called Mirror Mirror.  I can tell you unequivocally that the claims are true (isn't it nice when claims are true?).  I've got photos both with and without topcoat featured here.  See if you can tell the difference.

So apparently vampy wine shades are suddenly in for this fall, for both lips and nails.  It always kills me when the fashion powers that be take the classics and decide they're "in" for a season.  Anyhoo, if you're not really a slave to makeup trends and, like me, tend towards the classics anyway, guess what!  We get to be cutting edge for a couple months.
So maybe needless to say at this point, I adore this rich bordeaux and Mirror Mirror might even be my favorite polish of the year.  The formula is impeccable.  Two coats are opaque, easy to apply, and self leveling.  Even without topcoat, Mirror Mirror dries very quickly.

I know I'm going a little overboard on my photos of a simple creme but I just adore this polish-- the color, that ridiculous gloss... everything about it is perfection.

Okay, I'm done ♥ You need this polish, whether you've been on the hunt for a great vampy shade or if you're looking to be classically on trend for this season, believe me when I say you need Mirror Mirror in your life.

Sinful Colors SinfulShine polishes are available at Walgreens.

Thank you for reading and putting up with my true polish love picture spam, lol.  Here's one more-- we carved pumpkins last night and C thought it'd be fun to turn an old pattypan squash into a flying saucer. :)

  1. AHHH...no way!! When I fell in love with my SinfulShine Yours Truly and wanted another color, Mirror Mirror was the one I got! You are absolutely right about it being one beautiful and vampy polish. I tried doing a post a couple of weeks ago on it, but I couldn't get a good picture, partially due to the insane shine. Your pics are flawless and juicy-looking! And oh yeah...did you know that Mirror Mirror is apparently the cheap evil twin of Chanel Rouge Noir?

    1. I knew this was a Melissa polish as soon as I saw it. Do I think I'm pretty much over my aversion to the name because they've been putting out some seriously awesome stuff lately. And no, I didn't know it was a cheap evil twin (lolol) for Rouge Noir. Not sure why, but that somehow makes it even better, lool.

  2. Oh my word...yep, I need it. Besides the fact that it is my favorite color, it is simply gorgeous! I haven't tried any of the Sinful Shine polishes, but I intend to remedy that by purchasing this one. Beautiful and perfection! Btw, you're right, I can't tell the difference. Love your pumpkins...you guys have great pumpkin carving skills. :-)

    1. My husband's the one with the skills, lol. He drew the faces and cut out most the pieces. Says he used to do some pretty intricate stuff when he was younger.
Anyhoo, the polish... You'll absolutely love this one. The only reason I added topcoat in the first place is because I'm slightly OCD, lol, plus I figured it'd probably last longer but I didn't have a chance to test that theory. I can say at the end of the day it had the teensiest amount of tip wear and I was bummed to take it off in favor of obligations, lol.

  3. Ok, I may have to re-think my avoidance of Sinful Colors polishes. This is gorgeous! And your photos are perfect - I have no problem with you including a bunch:) Cute pumpkins. We finally picked ours out yesterday!

    1. They've been putting out some awesome colors this year! I'm starting to really like this brand. I hope you pick a few up again. :)
Do you all carve pumpkins together? I remember sitting at the kitchen table when I was four while my dad carved mine. That might have been the last time.

    1. I would totally hook you up if international shipping rates weren't so high. Stupid USPS. :(

  5. Hi Liesl, I always enjoy a good picture spam of a vampy polish :-)!!! Mirror, Mirror is beautiful!!! Awesome pictures and to Melissa: if this indeed is supposed to be reminiscent of Rouge Noir it clearly seems to come with an excellent formula as opposed to Chanel which used to be a thin jelly back in the day - I think it was back when it was released that I walked this planet with this color on my nails only!!! But while wearing Rouge Noir for more than 1 1/2 years never changed my annoyance over their formula ;-)!!! As for availability: no Sinful Colors in Switzerland either :-(

    1. Again... Stupid USPS snd their outlandish shipping rates. :( It's one of those colors that just seems so prolific but is so hard to actually pin down.
What a superb signature color! Can you even imagine it now? I don't know about you, but I'm closer to perfume monogamy than polish, lol.

  7. Oh my stars!!! (one of my coworkers says that and I think it's hilarious & so cute) There is topcoat on in some of those photos and not in others?! SinfulShine is RIGHT! :O And your nailsies are sooooo LOOOONG!!!! :D
I got a SinfulShine when they first came out...it's a rich teal creme. Can't remember the name of course and I'm too lazy to go dig it out from under my bed. :P
So I know everyone is comparing Mirror Mirror to Rouge Noir, but how close would you say this is to BL La Moss? I'm kinda kicking myself for not getting it when I was at Ulta that day. :-/

    1. Oh my stars :) I love it, I'm totally adding this to my repertoire of exclamations :). A dark teal, eh? I'm so there! Isn't the shine delicious?? So La Moss (which I RULLY need to wear again) is a true jelly and this one is all creme. Believe me when I say you need both.

    1. I don't know why, but it just baffles me that this company is US exclusive! It might be the only one. Anyhoo, thank you very much, it is such a perfect cold weather color!

  9. I love Sinful Colors polishes and the SinfulShine polish is a great value too even at a dollar more. I have that color too and it's a favorite for fall.
