Celestial Cosmetics Holo-fest!!!

Celestial Cosmetics holo polish swatch and review

Hi everyone!!  Celestial Cosmetics makes some of the prettiest linear holos I've ever seen, and I'm continually impressed with creator Nicki's color innovations and spectrum.  Today I get to share with you a veritable rainbow of rainbows.  I used two coats of each color, and the formula on each is the same-- impeccably easy to apply.  All six are jelly based.  All photos taken in a lightbox because the sun is keeping its distance around these parts.

First up is Mrs. Claus' Jugs (really?), a bright spring green holo.  I'm always happy to see a green holo, and one with lots of yellow-- too much blue in a green pulls all the red from my skin.  It's a little on the sheer side.  I could have/should have done three coats and it would have been just fine.

Sand Dunes, a summery bronze holo.  At first I thought this one was going to be another nude holo (I adore nude holos)  but it's on another level entirely-- think sunkissed skin and beaches in Rio.

Noel's Nuts (really?!), a pretty, saturated blue violet holo.  I tend to approach purples, especially blue leaning ones, with some trepidation.  I don't know why-- I'm just not drawn to them.  Maybe this polish will change all that because I really like the color on me.

Sun Kissed, a completely gorgeous red-orange holo in a shade that falls on the elegant side of the holo spectrum.  I like this one.  A LOT.

Ocean Mist, a watery, peacock blue holo with a complementing kinship towards Sand Dunes.  It's a stunning and perfectly summer color, similar to Jade Energy but with a touch more blue and a less strong holo effect.  It's not particularly unique but it is quintessential summer wear and as I sasid above, you won't find a better formula.

Moonlight Glow, a cool, rosy pink holo with a subtle blue flash.  This one is so pretty and girly, and despite how sheer it looks in the bottle, it's remarkably pigmented.  The preceding five are best suited for the sun but Moonlight Glow is seasonless.  The holo is the weakest of these six but the color and shift is fantastic.

  2. I have hearts in my eyes for these!! In regards to two of the names, was she conversing with Barielle when they named their Nude & Naughty collection? ;-) All of these look like they are superb and your swatches make me want them all!! I would have to say my top pick of all 6 would have to be Sand Dunes because I cannot resist a holo in that shade, nude or not! Second would have to be Sun Kissed because it's on the verge of being coral and I have a current obsession with coral! Beautiful swatches as always!

    1. Lol, Barielle's are more suggestive and these totally childish, lol. I'm such a fuddy duddy. Just number the darned things! And thank you, I'm pretty smitten with Sun Kissed, myself.

    1. Aren't they all just ahh-mazing?? :D I love the pink one, too-- it actually reminds me of something you showed last year that you really liked-- it was a Pantone Universe polish. And thank you <3<3

    2. Oh yes, you're right. That's probably why I like the pink... it's exactly the sort of shade I'm drawn to over and over. :)

  5. What a fantastic post and flawless swatches, as usual. <3 And though tan skin and I be mortal enemies, I love Sand Dunes fiercely. The green and violet ones are beautiful too...but those names? What in the world? Sun Kissed is pretty unusual too...they are all very lovely. You showcase them beautifully.

    1. I'm not a fan of tan skin, either (did I tell you I won a pasty leg contest at work?), but yeah, Sand Dunes is gorgie. I knew you'd have the same sensibilities about those names, lol. A rose by any other name, though ;)

  6. Beautiful post sis!!! Jelly holos are such a great formula for summer and spring as they keep a certain lightness (nothing wrong with saturation, but I you know what I mean, right?)! My favorite is the green!! And I love the slight sheerness that allows all colors to take their role and another coat might have "greeny-fied" the result and sort f pushed back the yellow - what do you think? My second would be Sand Dune - have a wonderful day xxx

    1. Oh, I definitely know what you mean. If you can't enjoy some sheer during summer, when can you? :) I'll wear the green in three coats and report back to you, because yeah, the yellow undertones of my skin might be exaggerating that particular pigment.
