Transitional Metals |
Hi all!! I've been on a metallic kick since {Mommy Does Her Nails} mentioned how much she'd been loving them on her toes a couple weeks ago. Their bright, shimmery glowiness feels perfect for August and the transition from summer to... well, late summer. Fall can wait :) Here are a few of my favorites.
LVX Sappir |
The gorgeous dark, cool steel blue of LVX Sappir takes on another life in the heat. There's something very refreshing about it and it's fun to find a summer wearable dark shade. The formula is like butter-- I used two easy coats and one layer of topcoat.
Zoya Mason |
Zoya Mason isn't your typical fuschia shimmer-- this one has a distinctly jelly base and a subtle and very cool blue flash. Two easy coats, one layer of topcoat.
Zoya Giovanna |
Zoya Giovanna is a brighter, richer, deeper, greener polish than my photo is relaying. It is an absolute stunner in real life, and utterly eye catching. It's got a similar illusion of cooling property to LVX Sappir. Two easy coats, one layer of topcoat.
Butter London Sunbaker |
Butter London Sunbaker is an absolutely spot on gorgeous summer burnt orange, super pigmented and packed with glowy gold shimmer. Bad for your skin-- gooood for your nails. It's an amazing complement to a dark metallic purple pedicure, too (think Zoya Jem). Two easy coats, one layer of topcoat.
Are you as besotted with this finish right now as I am? It's interesting what'll just suddenly start speaking volumes to you out of one small suggestion. What are your favorite metallics? Anything you're particularly feeling this August? Are you just plain ready for fall?

Oh wow, the first one is just amazing, so gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI adore that one, Melissa :) LVXs are just pretty brilliant, in general.
DeleteI'm not quite into metallics right now but I really love how these look on you! Maybe I should get into metallics, it's so elegant and so fall!! And fall is starting to show up here in Sweden ;)
ReplyDeleteI don't know, I'm pretty convinced the right shades are amazing for summer, too! And thank you ♥♥ They really are quite elegant, aren't they? :)
DeleteSeeing these colors makes me want fall to come asap! Very nice transitional metals.
ReplyDeleteLol, right on! I'm happy in the throes of summer for jut a little while longer ;)
DeleteOh wow what pretty polishes. I'm loving the Zoyas and the Butter London very much :-D
ReplyDeleteThe BL is killer, seriously. And the green Zoya... I wish so very much that it would photo as pretty as it really is, lol. It's like it never wants to smile, lol XD
Deletethat LVX is so pretty! I love the new nails on you :)
ReplyDeleteThank you, doll! I'm still missing my points but I'll get over it, lol ;)
Deletethis LVX!!! aaaahhhh!!!! it's so gorgeous!!!! And I'm totally ready for fall!!! not only weather wise, but also I'm craving darker polishes. Can't wait for the leaves to start changing!!!
ReplyDeleteIsn't it beautiful? It's just begging to be used for one of your gorgeous stamping expeditions :) I'm not ready for fall just yet but I'm glad I can get away with some more dramatic nail colors ;)
DeleteWow, totally impressed by this butter london shade! gorgeous!!
ReplyDeleteI love metallics! specially those paccked with micro glitter because they do not leave brushstrokes. For this time of the year I'd go with a bright teal or turquoise metallics!
YES on the microshimmer! It adds such depth to a polish, I don't understand why anyone would forgo it in preference to that brushstrokiness. And the BL is gorgeous :) My DH was remarking on it in the bottle just last night, lol.
DeleteWow! I am absolutely in love with LVX Sappir! It looks AMAZING!
ReplyDeleteIsn't it gorgeous?! Not your typical dark blue metallic, that's for sure :)
DeleteI love me some metallics, so these are totally up my alley! Yea I'm pretty ready for fall. This summer has been record breaking, and I'm so over the heat, the sun, and people telling me how much they love the heat only to retreat to their A/C. *grouchy* I can't wait for cooler temps, shorter days, and sweaters and boots. And along with that, all the gorgeous rich fall shimmers and metallics that come with it. :)

LOLOL! Yes, there is as much duplicity as there is general complaining about the weather when it's not 65 and sunny. We were downtown yesterday and I popped briefly into Nordstrom just to see what kind of boots are out and I found two pairs I need, lol (no trigger pulling at the moment, though).
