LVX Fall 2014

Hi all!!  One of the many reasons I love autumn and autumn fashion is finally here-- the LVX Fall lacquer collection.  This year's set delivers, as always, with updated, perfectly wearable colors in that most classic of finishes and on point formulas.  Let's get started.

Peony is a pastel pink, lightly kissed by lavender; not an obvious choice for a fall collection, but certainly timeless and muted slightly by the lavender undertone.  Wear it with black and white prints.  It's got perfect opacity in two coats-- finished with one layer of topcoat.

Anthracite is a stunner of a color-- a dark and stormy shark grey, elegant, edgy, gorgeous.  Two coats, finished with one layer of topcoat.

Cerise is a drop dead gorgeous folly red, the exact color of maraschino cherries.  I adore this one-- and I'm stoked to see LVX's first red in over a year.  Two coats, one layer of topcoat.

This set contains two greys, different in style and spirit, both remarkable.  Oyster is a soft, elegant, totally cozy dove grey.  Two easy coats (perfection for something so light), one layer of topcoat.

Macaroon is a blushed pinky peach, pale but not chalky.  I love seeing neutral lights in fall collections-- it's permission granted to those of us who follow certain rules to bend them a little.  Three coats, one layer of topcoat.

Espresso is LVX's take on the color du jour, cool, dark sable.  This one is somehow creamier than its mainstream counterparts.  Two coats, one layer of topcoat.

There really is something to satisfy every fall fancy here, and I have to say that I love the conspicuous absence of a blue.  The collection is this season's most elegant and as a whole plays so beautifully together.  You won't go wrong with any of these; my choices, however, are Anthracite, Cerise, and Oyster.

  3. Nice shades though it doesn't necessarily feel very Fall-like to me. Macaroon attracts me most!

    1. I had to keep in mind that LVX pulls inspiration from runway trends... Definitely not traditional fall shades here though the dark grey and the brown are close.
