I thought I'd wear My Pointe Exactly for a couple days, but just got a little too curious to see how I'd wear the soft lilac in OPI's NYC Ballet collection, called Care To Danse?. It pleasantly surprised me. Pale purples, whenever I've attempted to wear them, have washed me out, but not this one. Maybe it's the difference between color on your hands vs. next to your face. Anyway, Care To Danse? is soft, glossy, and gorgeous, and, even so, the least interesting of the four I've tried. It's very pretty, but doesn't evoke the feelings or images Tutu, Lyre, and Pointe have. I wanted to be wowed by this one, but, sometimes it's okay to simply be pretty. I used three coats, as I have with the others in this collection.
One of the coolest things about this collection is how completely different each of these colors, and the emotions they convey, are, even Care To Danse?, with its simple, unassuming prettiness. Color ought to do that, and that's why I like this collection so much-- it made me sort of step outside the boundary of polish simply being there to prettify my nails.
It's back to work today after a lovely five-day mini vacation full of gorgeous weather and lots of C time. We've now been married for seven years and one day, and life could not be sweeter.
Have an amazing day, and thanks for reading! :)
Now you're making me want the rest of the collection! Haha they all look so great on your nails! Maybe I need a "cleansing" polish day and use one of these.
ReplyDeleteTee hee hee <3 You totally need that kind of day. I'm having that kind of week. :D
