Snog and Snog

I've kind of been in love with the idea of a bright, pinky-red watermelon-esque shade this late spring, and I've been happily wearing the highly gorgeous and creamy Butter London Snog on my toes for the past couple weeks.  I've got this super fun, sexy dress I'd been planning on wearing for my brother-in-law's Cinco de Mayo/birthday party celebration, and after lots of thought, I decided Snog would be the perfect color to not only match my dress, but to add a fiery yet classic accent to my little getup.  Here it is, and I was actually surprised by its decorum.

What is Snog, anyway?
Honestly, some colors I prefer on my toes.  This one is lovely on fingers and toes; a fun, lively shade with the perfect amount of restraint, glossy and beautiful in two ridiculously easy to apply coats.

I decided, shortly after I had Snog in my hot little hands, that I had to have the matching lippy at some point.  My Cinco de Mayo festivities seemed the perfect occasion to try this trend of matching lips to nails.

I'm not going to show a closeup of my lips (I mean, holy smokes, I though taking photos of my nails was difficult!) but I will say that the color on my nails was identical to the color on my lips.  And I loved it.  I'm not even a fan of gloss.  I prefer lipstick in the tube, long-wearing and easy to control and apply.  This gloss defies its genre, though-- it's thick and pigmented, and a bit dry going on, but surprisingly easy to control, and vibrant and beautiful on, moisturizing, and long-lasting, on top of it.  So instead of my skeery closeups, here's a picture of my handsome C, and me, adorned in my Snog, before we headed out tonight.

So, Butter knocks it out of the park AGAIN with an amazing lipgloss formula.  There are four other matching lip and polish sets, each more demure than this one, so even if Snog is too much, I highly encourage a try of the others.

  5. Snog is such a lovely color! I've been curious about the lippy, and it's nice to see that it is pigmented, just like their polishes. And lovely picture of the two of you! <3

    1. Thank you :):) I'd heard they aren't your typical glosses, and that's what drove me to them-- packaging of a gloss with the staying power of a lipstick. Good things.
