Julep Lindsay-- This Fall's Oxblood Trend At Your Fingertips!

If you pay attention to any of the fashion magazines, you've probably seen something about oxblood being the It color of the season.  It's a dark, rich color that can be interpreted anywhere from brown-red to dark wine, and I'd LOVE to get my hands on a handbag or a pair of pumps in this shade.  In the meantime, I found a polish in my existing stash that totally fits the bill.  Here, from my introductory Julep Maven box from last November, is the gothically gorgeous Lindsay.

Lindsay is a super dark cabernet colored jelly on the wine end of the oxblood spectrum.   It looks, well, a little bloody... in a sexy vampirish sort of way, of course.  Lindsay is classically vampy in a way that can and will outlive the trend it fits right into.  Being a jelly finish, it's pretty streaky up to the third coat (which is what you see here).  Then it's glossy, deadly perfection.  I've had issues with Julep's formulas before, but this one's still beautifully fluid and workable after a year, as polishes ought to be.

I just checked Julep's site and Lindsay doesn't seem to be available at the moment... Boo.  However, Butter London's La Moss looks to be a spot-on dupe, and now you know what polish I'll be getting next.... ;)

Have a lovely day, and thank you for reading. :)

  1. Omg, love. One of the most appropriate fall colors. When I see this on nails it always makes me picture wearing a big comfy sweater curled up with a hot cup of tea. I don't know why, but it really does. It looks beautiful on you.

    1. That's awesome. :) It's always so interesting to hear what you associate certain colors with. Fowl Play is kind of that color for me, but it's more being outside all bundled up on a crisp, clear day. I do have a cozy sweater scent, though-- it's amber, warm and sweet, with a touch of vanilla.

    1. I love it, too! I wore it a lot last fall and I'd forgotten how much I enjoy it on my nails... Maybe even more than red, for the time being, lol.
