OPI Spring French

Good morning!!  I saw this pretty little French using two of my favorite OPI spring polishes on OPI's facebook page yesterday and instantly fell in love.
Here's my recreation-- OPI Don't Burst My Bubble with Can't Find My Czechbook tips.

I used three coats of Don't Burst My Bubble as the base and two coats of Can't Find My Czechbook on the tips, plus topcoat.  Obvi my freehanding skills need work, but I just love the combination of the cool toned aqua against the blushed white.

I decided to read the comments under OPI's photo and was kind of astounded at how many people didn't like it, and how many people don't subscribe to the "if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all" notion.  Seriously, what kind of person feels good after leaving a negative comment?  SO not productive.  Anyway, maybe all this is destined for one of those mean, troll-y sites that thrive on slamming bloggers, especially with my imperfect tips, and I did consider not posting.  But this is my blogity blog blog, and it's about progress, not perfection, and the mean folks can suck it. :)

On that note... have a wonderful Friday, and thanks for reading. ♥♥

  2. Nice rant lol. I've never understood at either, just like you said...if you can't say anything nice don't say anything at all :) I love the way the combination came out, it makes me want to try it!

    1. Thank you, Heather :) I like them, too, they're fun to look at and wear.

  4. And also, about your rant - you should see the stuff they say on Instagram about manis. Someone featured some nail art I did and people were ripping it to shreds saying it was sloppy and not cute (even though it was an abstract design so of course it wasn't perfect). Goes to show people are just rude!

    1. Ugh, I'm sorry you had to deal with that! You've got some of the prettiest art out here, I can't believe so many people wouldn't see that. Like, if something isn't your style, or if you just plain don't get it, let it be. No need to be a jerk.

    1. I would absolutely not mind, in fact I would be honored to be your inspiration, in fact at this point I'm kind of surprised we aren't posting the same looks more often, lolol. ;) Have an amazing weekend, and thanks for the L'Occitane email ♥♥

  7. I LOVE this look <3 I love their look too and I don't understand either. I've seen people retort with, "Constructive criticism." However I'm not sure they know what the constructive part means....so sad. :(

    1. Right! Constructive criticism is not telling someone you don't like their freaking nails. Then they say stuff like if (you're) going to have a page, you have to expect some negativity... Because appparently some folks just can't keep that side in check. Whatevs.

  8. Hehe you go, girl! You're right, it's your blog and you should post what you want. Don't mind the haters. And this is super cute! Your freehand tips are quite good! :-)

    1. Thank you, Yun :) They're better than my first try, for sure. OPI's got some good tips on how to freehand on their page.

  9. The colors are indeed pretty together.
Some people really just talk for the sake of it. It is quite annoying that a lot of people thrive on putting other down.

    Anyhoo, you've done well here.
You're brave to do a french top freehanded. I dare not. lol
I always use a duct tape. I put the tap to cover my base color, leaving the part of the french open. Then I apply the color, and quickly remove the tape. Lol
Doing it the lazy Lizzy way. Lol..

    1. Lol, well, I feel like I'm being lazy by not using any precautions. It's so much faster for me to just swipe on a stripe, rather than incorporate other tools. Thank you for the vote of confidence ♥
