Orly Rage

Good morning!!  My lovely friend Essie's been tempting me with Orly Rage for months and I finally pulled the trigger on this gorgeous foil this last weekend.

Orly Rage swatch and review

Orly Rage swatch and review

Ever since rose gold jewelry arrived on the scene a few years ago, I've been a little obsessed (I had to show it with my favorite rose gold hoops, lol), and Rage is the perfect way to wear the gorgeous tone on nails.  This one's got an abundance of silver shimmer, giving it a little more of an elegant appearance than its chromelike counterparts.  I love it.  It's a little more neutral than the flashy gold and silver foils I'm also fond of wearing, making it a smidge more demure even as it commands attention.  I used two coats here.  The formula is exceptional and if you don't have this beauty in your collection, I highly recommend it.  It's lovely for glitter layering, too, as I'm learning, but more on that later. :)

Thanks for reading, and have a wonderful day! ♥♥

  3. Liesl you got me drooling over this!!!! Great everything again and your review is exactly what I think about this polish (well done, Essie b.t.w. - smirk ;-)!). Do I need to mention that rose gold is my favorite metal for jewellery? Are you surprised? Looking forward to which glitter you will pick!!!!!

    1. Thanks, friend :) I had to google Pros and Bronze... yes, the two layered would probably be smokin'!

  7. I'm not a big foil lover, but this is pretty! I love Orly products (although, they never interact with their lowly twitter fans, my own personal gripe). LOL But, I do credit them with helping make my nails really strong...I've been using their Nail Defense and it's been doing wonders for my nails.

    1. That's awesome (about the Nail Defense, that is)! Laaaaame about the twitter thing, but whatevs, right? This is my second Orly polish. I've worn that purple jelly bird one that everyone moons over (WHY can't I remember the name? lol. The formula was tricky and I wasn't fond of the brush, so I've been a little hesitant, but Rage is awesome in every way ;)

  8. I just got this one for free. My Sally's didn't know what to do with the old style bottles when Orly came out with their new design, so they were giving one free with purchase.

Speaking of which,.. I hate their new design. Instead of something special, which the old design looked like, the new style with just bold text and no logo looks like generic store brand stuff.

    1. Niiiice! I'm not too keen on the new design, myself. I think this one's classier, but I'm sure I have no idea what this company's vision is. I like the lighter caps on the old ones better, too.

  9. This is stunning! I think rose gold makes my skintone look very weird so I don't think I should try it, boo :(

    1. I feel like this one's a good color for any skintone because it's got the warmth from the pin and the coolness from the silver... just a thought ;) I bet you'd rock this one, Gwen :)
