Tag You're It-- Spooktacular Version

Good morning friends!!  My new bud Michelle at  Lacquer Or Leave Her tagged me to play this leetle game.  These are always fun to play and I hope you all enjoy reading my responses :)

1) Do you still Trick or Treat?

I've never been trick or treating.

2) Do you like going to haunted attractions?

Heck yes!!  Before we even became a couple, C and I drove around to all sorts of rumored spooky places, like a backwards church... we're all old and stuff now and neither of us can remember anything else, lol.  Or, it could be that we only talked about it and that's the only place we actually went.

3) Favorite Halloween treat you look forward to getting?

Candy corn, and I prefer the ones with the brown, not the yellow.  I think they taste chocolate-y.

4) Favorite Halloween movie?

Disney's The Legend of Sleepy Hollow.  It's a classic!  "A-with a hip, hip and a clippity-clop, he's out looking for a brand new top!" Sing it, Bing.

5) Favorite scary movie?

The Blair Witch Project, hands down.  And it's not because I thought it was particularly scary.  I found the whole "is it real, or is it fake?" hubbub surrounding it fascinating, and I was rapt the entire time I watched it and was so for every time following.  I can't tell you how many times I've replayed the last scene trying to find something, anything, suggesting what might be going down.  The sequel in no way compares.  I haven't seen it in years, sadly.

6) Favorite costume you wore as a child?

N/A, really.  Our school always put on a Halloween carnival and my sisters and I pieced together whatever we could from whatever we had around the house.  I went as a tailless cat one year, with ears taped to a headband and a hand me down white leopard print shirt that I loved.  I don't recall anything else.

7) A costume you would like to dress up as if you could go back to your childhood?

Um, forget that!  I'd love to be a zombie bride now, though, but I'm not about to use my own wedding dress and they still cost $100 at Goodwill.

8) Do you decorate your house for Halloween?

A little.  I found these adorable little bat and jack-o-lantern glass ornaments one year that we like to put up, along with more all-encompassing autumn decorations.  Last year we put some decals and a shifting picture of a scary old lady on our front door.

9) Do you have a festive background on your phone or computer?

I do not.  I usually won't be bothered to change stuff like that.  A photo of my favorite perfume is my cu8rrent backdrop and there it will stay until C decides to change it (it's his turn, now, lol).

10) What are your plans for this Halloween night?

Working laaaate :p  So yeah.  I'll probs try and do some festive makeup and buy candy for my coworkers and for little kids who happen by the pharmacy.  C gets to have fun with the trick or treaters all by his lonesome, again.

11) If you have a pet what would you like to dress it up as (if you don't have a pet, you can say your sister or brother)?

We have two cats and there will be no dressing up of the pets in our household, lol.  Though we did put some batwings on Sal one year and enter her in a photo contest.

SHE'S SO CUUUUTE!!!  lol.  She didn't win, possibly because we entered too late, or possibly because she looks like she might want to scratch your eyeballs out.

12) What is your least favorite sweets you would never want to receive when you go trick or treating?

M&Ms bug me for some reason, especially the regular ones.  Those and Hershey's minis.  Anything hot.  Lemonheads.  Necco wafers (BLEAHHH!!!).  Oh, and Reese's Peanut Butter Cups.  How about y'all just give me a toothbrush and a bag of carrots?

13) Favorite Halloween decoration?

Jack o'lanterns!  We did some fun ones this year (and when I say "we" I mean mostly C).  I posted this a couple weeks ago but here it is again.

14) Favorite Halloween song?

I haven't the foggiest.  I just googled "Halloween songs" and found this Billboard Top Ten list.  Based on that, I have to go with Rob Zombie's Dragula., though I've grown to find Werewolves of London by Warren Zevon highly entertaining ("I saw a werewolf drinking a pina colada at Trader Vic's, and his hair was perfect".)

But then there's this...

15) Favorite Halloween makeup look? (insert picture if you can)

Well, there's this that I did last year (I went as "comfortable" for Halloween at work, aren't I so clever), trying to be all Cullen-esque.

I've always had a soft spot for full-on goth, though.  I did C's makeup this particular year.  This is special because it marked the day I knew for sure we were going to be okay.  Our relationship was a week old.  Also, this is a scanned in photo... ahh, the good old days....

And that's it!  Copy and paste and participate, if you have a mind to, and let me know if you did.  I'd love to go check it out!

Thanks for reading and have a frightfully awesome day, lolol.  Oh, my.

    1. Lolol, you're a doll ;) We just went candy shipping and none of the above are included... Not a very good strategy when you're trying to lose weight, lol.

  2. lol...that scary lady is Queen Emma from The Netherlands (mother of Queen Wilhelmina who was mother of Queen Juliana who was mother of Queen Beatrix who is mother of King Willem Alexander)! She was not scary at all, she was vieuwed by the dutch as a very sweet old lady!

    1. You don't say! I thought it was just some random old daguerreotype. Well, she's very creepy when she morphs into a zombie, lol. Thanks for the trivia/history lesson ♥♥ Makes me wonder if George Washington is zombified for Halloween in other parts o' the world. lol.

  3. Here I was just thinking we might be sisters separated at birth (Blair Witch, check, Candy Corn, check, Glittery Cullen make-up visual joke, check, Will Ferrell in a half top playing Don't Fear The Reaper, check) and then you mentioned you don't like Reese's Peanut Butter Cups. AArrrgghhHHH!! (lol). Okay, two other comments. Is the cat in the window pic real, or a decal? And second, Sal absolutely does look like she's gonna stab someone in the neck, which make the picture even cuter!!! What other look would a hybrid Vampire Cat-Bat have on its face??

    1. I was thinking the same thing :) I used to loooove Reeses, too. I lost my sweet tooth in my 20s, though, and when it came back around 30, the Reese's peanut butter just tasted bad to me. I've become a chocolate snob, lol, with the exception of Sixlets. And Whoppers. The cat in the window is strategically placed. He kept sticking his head up as we were putting the decals on the door and then when I was ready to smap a photo, he was nowhere to be seen, so C grabbed him and is holding him there, lol. WE'RE FRAUDS!!! lol. And funny thing about the Sal photo (sort of)-- we had to bribe her with toys to get her to sit up in her little tower and the toy of choice was an emery board. She used to love those things and was constantly stealing mine. So what you don't see is a hand wagging one of those slightly off camera.

    2. Well I can tell you put some thought and work into it...especially adding pics:) I loved the Edward Cullen inspired look. I remember when you did that...you said you felt like it looked like you had some odd skin disease :)

    3. Hahaha, it totally did! It looked all scaly and clumped together. I had to work to get it to look cool, lol.

  5. Sadly I'm too new to Halloween to do this, but I thoroughly enjoyed reading yours! I LOVE that last picture too - so spicy! ;)

    1. I'm actually relatively new to it, myself. I just really got into it once I moved out on my own-- it's always just seemed so fun. I didn't dress up for a few years for certain reasons but I feel like maybe I can again. C wants us to dress up as Ewoks sometime in the near future.

  6. This was great...I loved reading your answers, but I'm sorry, I am IN LOVE WITH BEAU in that doorway shot!! <3 And more cowbell!! LOLOL...I can't for the life of me figure out why Sal didn't win Miss Congeniality at least? Ugh for having to work late...I'm still deciding how I want to dress up. Every year I say I'm an overworked accountant.

    1. I know, that's exactly what we were thinking. She looks so darned sweet and charming, just the type of cat you'd love to let play with your kids, or at a nursing home. A big ball of pure love, this one, lolol. And I KNOW!!! I love that little photo bomb, even if it is staged... :p
Sadly, we don't have the $ to do overly elaborate costumes this year but I do think I'll pick up some fun makeup and do something a little out of my comfort zone. Lol at "overworked accountant" ♥ You should totally go as "comfortable" :D

    1. She was... She was, like, two when we took that. Now she's a little scraggly, poor thing. She's had a rough year. Thank you :)

  8. Haha Sal is so cute! I wish we could dress up our chinchilla, but I don't think he would appreciate that very much. There would probably be outfits torn and lots of dropped fur everywhere lol. Your comment about not liking M&Ms reminds me that when I trick-or-treated (in Canada when we lived there), my favorite treat to get was little bags of potato chips, especially ketchup flavored! I drool just thinking about it. I'm constantly on the lookout for ketchup flavored potato chips, but can't find them here lol.

    1. Nothing truly belongs in outfits but tiny little dogs, lol. Have you ever tried to put your bebe in a costume? The whole bat thing was really quite difficult. I had to bribe her with one of my emery boards so she'd sit upright and C had to shoot fast. At the end, when that was the best of the bunch, we were all, "Man, she looks so mean!"
You are SO after my own heart, I'd have loved little bags of potato chips over candy, lol. In fact I think I might do that next time I actually get a Halloween night off. And if I ever happen upon a bag if ketchup flavored chips (and I swear I've seen them around, like in the ethnic grocery stores, maybe) I'll send you a bunch <3

    2. Ha, Dan would never allow me to put him in any costume. He isn't very friendly to begin with, so that would be too much lol. I love him though, even though he's a grumper. :) Try you may, but you won't find ketchup flavored chips. I think there's a conspiracy out there to keep them away from me. How else do you explain why this delicious snack is no where to be found? :D
