12 Days of Christmas Nails!! Day 6-- Shimmer Polish Christmas Glitters

*press sample
Happy Saturday, friends!!  I've been a long time admirer of, and recent obsessee over, Shimmer Polish, a line of completely gorgeous layering glitters with a sophisticated edge in a spare, elegant package.  When creator Cindy offered to send me some for review, I jumped at the chance.  I was super excited to learn that she's got some full coverage glitters in her lineup, too, and three of them are beautiful, twinkly, festive Christmas perfection.

I'll start with Cristina, an emerald glitter interspersed with red glitters, in an emerald green jelly base.  Cristina is the sheerest of these three, despite how packed with glitter she is.  I used three coats and the end result was a little thick (especially after a good layer of Seche Vite on top to smooth) but the color is smokin'!  It's also greener than my camera wanted to show.  Some gals have problems with purples, I have problems with emerald green shinies.

Céline is gorgeous.  I ooh'ed just a little more when I unwrapped this one.  It's a mulberry based jelly packed with monochromatic microglitters and hexes, and variously sized gold hexes that flash the holo rainbow.  I used two coats plus one layer of thick topcoat.

Tracy surprised me with its stand alone-ness.  This one's got a clear base so it can be used as a topper/glitter gradient component, but it's also so saturated with gorgeous gold glitters that it becomes opaque in two coats (which you see here).  Amazing.  For a mostly monochromatic, glitter, it's pretty complex-- Tracy is primarily tiny gold microglitter and small gold hexes, with liberal dashes of gold bar glitter (that behave themselves and don't go hanging off your free edge) and tiny copper glitter.  The gold hexes also flash holo-- it looks like a smattering of multicolored glitters in my photos, but that's just the holo working its magic.  This polish is a sparklingly glamorous and elegant as all get-out.  I used one thick layer of topcoat.

In closing, the formulas on all three of these is fantastic-- great consistency, easy glitter placement, minimal to no pooling/cleanup.

  5. These are just beautiful...all of them. Cristina is fabulous because, well, it's teal! Celine has that raspberry jam look I love. <3 But Tracy...wow...what a crazy complex polish. It's fantastic! I really like Shimmer Polish. A "dear friend" gave me Marilyn, and I love it. :D

    1. Naturally! There is an Astrid in this collection and that was veeeeerrrrry close to being my given name (my mom liked Liesl better) but I might need that one because of the whole principle, lol. Plus, it's really pretty :D
