Glam Polish Pixie Hollow (partial)

Glam Polish Pixie Hollow collection swatch and review

Hello everyone!!  One of the things to think about when perusing new collections from international artists is their time and their season.  While we US and European gals are in the thick of winter, other parts of the globe are experiencing their summer right now.  That would make the introduction of Aussie based Glam Polish's Pixie Hollow collection a late spring release and summer collection.  This set of five bright and shimmery shades is sunny weather perfect and makes me excited for June, but it's also a fun and colorful break from the glitz and the drama of the holidays.  I've been having a blast playing around with three of them.

First up is Tinkerbell, a bright lime green packed with silver shimmer.  Two coats plus topcoat.

Silvermist, a bright aqua blue with minimal green tones and a lot of silver shimmer.  Two coats plus topcoat.

These dry to a satiny finish and the addition of topcoat doesn't add a whole lot of additional shine, which is nice-- you get the additional weartime without alteration of appearance.  Shimmers thicken a formula and aid in easy application and these polishes go on perfectly.

Gliss is one of the special effects toppers in the set.  It's a subtle silver linear holographic overlay that adds a little depth and interest to these beauties, making them even more sunshine-friendly.  It's such a pretty little number, sheer and jelly-like in the bottle.  I felt like I was applying magical fairy dust to my nails.  Ah, the power of suggestion (and the power of holo) ;)

Here are both colors, side by side-- the left is without Gliss and the right is with.

It's hard to capture the subtlety of this one out of direct sunlight, especially with the amount of silver already present in the polishes, but the brightening effect is still visible here and quite apparent in real life.  I love how Gliss transforms Silvermist into an even more aquamarine finish, and it takes the brightness of Tinkerbell down about half a notch even as it livens it up.

Glam Polish Pixie Hollow collection is available internationally through Color4Nails.com for $12 apiece.

  8. These are both beautiful...that green is fantastically magical, and the blue is fairy dust in a bottle. <3 I suddenly feel like singing "A Dream Is a Wish Your Heart Makes" and whip up a dress with some mice.
