Glam Polish Cast A Spell collection swatch and review

Happy New Year!!  C's been sick for the last week but we stayed up through midnight and rung in 2014 singing to the BeeGees on youtube karaoke, lol.  The best thing about not partying down on new Year's Eve is waking up feeling great, ready to face the day.  I've got lots of prettiness to share with you all within the coming weeks!  I mentioned a couple days ago that there's much awesomeness coming from Glam Polish lately, and the gorgeous Cast A Spell collection is a huge part of that.  I've got two from this mesmerizing collection to share today.

Cast A Spell is a set of five monochromatic scattered holo-shimmer-glitters in tonal jelly bases.  The effect is multidimensionally twinkly, almost glassfleck-like, and as if you're gazing into into a deep and mystical pool.  There's a LOT going on in these, but for all the busyness, the tone on tone quality makes them elegant and very wearable.  These polishes are truly something else.
Conjuring is a dark kelly green.

Coven is a ruby red with a slightly stronger holo effect.  I.  Die.  My 2014 favorites list starts here.

The formula on these is fantastic.  I used two coats for both manis and two layers of topcoat.  There's no issue of thickness or weartime-- any polish that can withstand a full day's work with no tipwear leaves me impressed.  These lacquers are beautiful and durable-- you really can't ask for more than that!

Glam Polish is Aussie-based but available internationally through Color4Nails.com for $12 each.

So... How's your New Year's celebration been?  It occurred to me yesterday that this holiday is particularly fun because first, it means the madness is officially over for another ten months, and second, we're all unified in it-- Happy New Year is universal.  It's a reminder that whatever our deals are, we all get to leave the old in the past and start fresh and that is really cool.  Nothing deep-- it's just nice to feel at one with all my fellow earthlings sometimes.

Thank you for reading and Carpe Annum!! ♥♥♥

    1. "I am impressed by Glam Polish morphing from girly girliness to mature bling!" I was trying to find a way to express this, because that's exactly what's going on! Appreciating a well-made polish is one thing and it's nice to be able to look at and try things that are outside of my comfort zone but this new direction Glam's taking is truly fabulous.
C is in recovery mode this weekend after returning to work for a couple days, which means I'll be attending my favorite 3 year old nephew's birthday by my lonesome, lol. Thank you for the well wishes, sis ♥

    1. I honestly think just about anything feels better than a hangover and a good portion of it is psychological, knowing it's all your own doing, haha. I hope you're feeling better ♥
