Hi everyone!! Happy Sunday! I've been really wordy on a LOT of my recent posts so I'll give you all a break and just post some swatch spam :) You know I LOOOOVE my Sally Hansen Nail Prisms and I recently got a couple more duochromes off Amazon (including one I've been lemming hardcore, lol-- not Turquoise Opal or White Turquoise, alas, but maybe someday...).
First up is my lem, Ruby Sapphire. It's a jelly based blue violet to fuschia shifter with some shimmer. Three coats.
This nail shape plus an old Big 3 formula plus a Big 3-Free quick drying topcoat equals rather instantaneous tipwear but LOOKIT THAT SHIFT!!! I love this color so, so much ♥♥♥ Notice the painted bottle. Why SH decided to go that route with some of these Prisms, I'll never know.
This one's Bronze Ruby, a metallic based fiery red-orange to red-gold shifter with a bunch of shimmer. Three coats.
that bottle shift, though ♥♥♥ |
So there you go! It's Super Bowl Sunday in the US and I don't care too much, lol. I like to watch for the whole excitement and energy, or the halftime show if it's interesting, but this year, I feel nothing, despite the Seahawks being "my team" in a next-door neighbor sort of way. We're supposed to go to a party but C's back is giving him trouble so he's taking it easy and I'm taking Geddy cat to her first vet visit as part of her new family. Anybody doing anything fun, or are you taking the opportunity to carry on like any other day?
Thank you for reading and enjoy the day, whatever you end up doing :)
What great shades! They both have such depth to the color :)
ReplyDeleteI know it!! Nail Prisms are the best :)
DeleteSo pretty!! Have fun relaxing, I honestly don't care much for the game either---I will just be snacking on fun stuff all day :)
ReplyDeleteThat's our plan. After the vet visit I'll stop at the store to get some noms lol :)
DeleteI so love your nails this shape Liesl! I think you should keep them this way for a while!! Both of these are so pretty, alas I never did pick up any of these so it looks like I will have to take the route you did and look on Amazon because now I want some :-P Tell your DH I hope his back gets better and I hope Geddy has a great first time Vet visit! Oh AND I could care less about either team. I only like the food and company ;-)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Dani ♥ I really love them, too. They feel more me than squares. Alas, I snapped one about a week ago and the show must go on, lol, so I'm sporting squares again but I CAN'T WAIT to be able to shape them again.
DeleteThe NPs are great! Super finicky formula, especially with the new topcoats, but soooo gorgeous!
And DH says thank you :)
These are beautiful. I know why you love them so much. They do remind me of the Lustre Shines, but not as shimmery? Am I thinking right here? :/ Ruby Sapphire is <3<3<3!! And by the way, I'm just amazed that you all have vets open on Sundays. And what's a Super Bowl? I thought Downton Abbey and Sherlock were the only things on tonight...:P
ReplyDeleteYes and no. The thing about the Lustre Shines was that, with the exception of a couple, they were all copies of copies and only a couple of them, yet, were particularly duochrome. So the NPs are for the most part stronger, and they're different from anything that's been done. The Celestial Cosmetics Game of Thrones duochromes come close but they're still not as strong. Lava is certainly more shimmery, though, it's kind of in a class all its own :)
DeleteWe do have a vet's office here in town with limited hours on weekends. It's a great clinic, kind of like Kaiser P for animals, lol. We haven't yet seen the same vet twice.
LOLOL! We made tasty superbowl type food and watched The Croods and American Picker (we're highly entertained by that show right now). It sounds like the game was boring, anyway (aren't they all?!? lol ;)).
LOL Melissa :)
DeleteThese are both very pretty!
ReplyDeleteI'm hypocrite, because normally I don't give a crap about the Super Bowl but I watched today... and my team won!! Wooooooooo!!
Well you get a free pass since it's your home team ;) My mom always turned the Super Bowl on when I was growing up, and we'd all sit and watch it-- for the commercials. It's funny how it's become as much of a holiday as anything because most years I do want to watch it. We don't have cable, though, and I just didn't feel like going out of my way to see it this year... Congrats to the Seahawks, though, even if the coach is a little....
DeleteHands down, Ruby Saphire is just the prettiest blue purple shifter out there! Totally understand why this was among your lemmings!!! And Ruby Bronze, what a saturated glow - like lit from within! Great post though I DO love your wordy ones any time, any day xxx
ReplyDeleteI totally agree! I've paid beaucoup bucks for a couple of my Prisms, though, and I'm kind of over not finding them at some sort of bargain (relatively speaking). I top out at about $9.99 for these things nowadays and I was beyond thrilled to score both these at prices acceptable to me, lol ♥ And thank you sis ♥ Wordy is good but sometimes I can't think of a darned thing, lol.
DeleteI cheered for Seattle because Yun lives there AND I like their uniform:) I usually say "outfit" but Chris corrects me...."it's UNIFORM". lol. I love the pop of lime green. Every year, since we have had kids, we get pizza for the Super Bowl and lay out blankets on the floor and have a picnic. We did that again yesterday and had a great time :) These are some beautiful polishes and you wear them well. I am wearing Butter London Posh Bird.
ReplyDeleteLolol :) Outfits, after having played sports, yourself... You're so cute :) The funny thing is that Yun was cheering for the Broncos, lol. Your family Super Bowl party sounds really fun, good memories being made! Ahh Posh Bird <3<3<3
DeleteShe did???? LOL. Niiiiiice.
