Cult Nails Feedback + LVX Dahlia

*LVX press sample

Hi everyone!!  Happy Saint Patrick's Day!  I honestly forgot all about it as I was doing my nails last night, so here is my decidedly un-St. Paddy's Day-like manicure.  I will be wearing green elsewhere.

I'm pretty much in absolute love with Cult Nails Feedback and I really want to wear it over every creme and jelly I own.  Part of Cult Nails' fall 2013 All Access collection, Feedback is a highly irregular pink and gold mylar flakie suspended in a clear base.  One of my favorite duos from that collection is Feedback over the burgundy jelly Lamestain.  I don't have Lamestain, so I grabbed one of my own favorite vampy jellies, LVX Dahlia.  Observe.

I used two coats of Dahlia and one coat of Feedback.  Feedback is just this side of completely easy to apply.  The mylar shards are plentiful and they come out rather clumped together, but they are relatively easy to spread around on the nail.  One layer of a thicker topcoat (I used Rica Glossy Glam) does the trick in smoothing this one out for the most part, but there are some shards that won't lay perfectly flat.  It's not a big deal-- the appearance of the flakie isn't altered, like a curling glitter would be.  It's just a matter of how smooth the surface will feel when you run your finger over it.

I've come to the conclusion that if you see a limited edition flakie, you buy it.  Do not hesitate. lol.  Fortunately, Feedback is still available on cultnails.com for $12.
Thank you for reading, have a safe and fun St. Paddy's Day, and for the love of all things sacred, don't call it St. Patty's Day (thanks, Yahoo). ;) ♥

    1. Gosia, you should!! My lighting's veddy bad on this post and I'm not really doing it justice. The rose gold and gold shards together are just really freaking cool.

  4. Oh holy cow - this mani is perfect! Look at all those shards and snippets gleaming! Truth being said Lamestain is while beautiful certainly not unique and the options to get a similar one are many. I also was not too concerned about some of the flakes stiking up - they were few and by no means anything as disrupting as curling glitter - I agree!!! Great pictures and post xxx

    1. I almost got Lamestain, because I like to have a certain amount of brand fluidity in my layering, but I just couldn't justify it with no less than three similar polishes in my stash. This is certainly a duo that gets your nails noticed! I was tagged at work as "the gal with the fancy nails", lolol ;)

    1. Thanks friend ♥♥ They are really gold, I was considering that in comparison to my other gold flakie, Maria Luisa. I guess it's the difference between mylar and cellophane (always makes me think of Chicago, lol).
