A Little (discontinued) Catrice Swatch Spam

Catrice Swatch spam

Hi friends!!  Right before international shipping prices jumped sky-high and overseas swapping became a luxury I could no longer afford, my good friend Christine at Polished Marvels and I got in a couple good ones.  She sent me a few polishes from one of my very favorite international brands, Catrice, and they're treasures in my collection... even more so when I found out all my colors had been discontinued.  So, my bad for being remiss in posting about them; I don't know about you, though, but I kind of think looking at vhtf/d/c'd polish swatches is fun. :)

If I remember correctly, Christine originally got No Snow Petrol for herself, thinking it would be a copy of Rescue Beauty Lounge Aqua Lily and quickly discovered that it's not.  No Snow Petrol is a highly dusty teal with a very subtle pink shimmer, really quite unique.  I love me some teals and this one stands out in my not inconsiderable stash of such colors as being edgily, grungily pretty.  I LOVE this color.  Two coats plus one layer of topcoat.

King of Greens spent a long time on my wishlist and the dear girl sent me two.  It's a yellow toned grass green with a visible monochromatic shimmer and a very spring/summer feel to it.  Two coats plus one layer of topcoat.

George Blueney was a new release when Christine sent it and I was stoked to receive it.  It's GORGEOUS, a deep navy/midnight blue packed with monochromatic, teal, and fuschia shimmer different from the inky OPI Russian Navy types because this one is warm toned, more deep cyan and less ballpoint pen.  Two coats plus one layer of topcoat.

So... good luck finding these if you like 'em?  And tell me, is it completely rude and self indulgent to post swatches of discontinued polishes?  I just began to feel like these were way too pretty to keep to myself any longer.
Thanks for reading and have a beautiful day!! ♥ (and thanks again, sis ♥♥)

  2. Okay...these are ALL gorgie, but No Snow Petrol is beautiful!! What an interesting color. I love it. I also love the shimmer in George Blueney and had to LOL at your "less ballpoint pen" description. :P I don't see anything negative about posting discontinued polishes...I mean, they don't stay around forever. No reason why you shouldn't create somebody else's Ebay wish list, right? And Christine IS a dear girl!! <3

    1. I knew you'd be into that one :) It's ambiguous in a really ambiguous sort of way, lol. And truth be told, I employed the old "I hope I don't look like a jerk because these are d/c'd" device (these is such a thing! I made it up!) because I couldn't for the life of me figure out how to close this gracefully. "K bye guys!!" wasnt going to cut it.

  3. Hi sis - oh thank you so much for your sweet sweet words!!! Those were the days when we could shop for each other - le sigh and grumble to all postal services out there!!!! They all look perfect on you and if push comes to shove I have to declare defeat to be unable to name a favorite!! Despite MY hesitancy to show discontinued polishes I love to see and read about them on other blogs (what's wrong with me, eh?) as I find them inspirational and as Melissa said, they make a nice addition to anyones wishlist - gorgeous post - K luv - bb for now ;-) xxx

    1. I know it, WHY do they have to make things so difficult? The whole "security" thing thwarts, if anything, very little (well, I guess I don't know that, but if it's anything like the beefed up airline security it's lost on those for whom it would actually matter), and the consequences land on us regular folk. Le sigh, indeed, lol ;) Anyhoo, I can't keep these off my fingers lately! Catrice and Spring go hand in hand for me as my first bottle came from my mom after a trip to Holland a few Mays ago. K bye !! ♥♥
