butter LONDON Summer 2014 Lolly Brights-- Sozzled Nail Lacquer

*press sample

Hi everyone!!  Welcome to Butter London week on LLPT!  It's almost May, temperatures are slowly rising, and summer is imminent.  Butter London's summer collection has made its debut and in a decidedly different turn from this spring's muted neutrals,  Lolly Brights is full of bright, vivacious, adventurous, and fun color for lips, face, and nails.

I've been reallyreallyreally excited about the bright green creme polish in the set of six nail lacquers since the first promo pictures started popping up.  A good green creme is aloofly, edgily elegant to me, somewhere between black and red, minus the sex, plus some cool, and a fresh summer alternative to classic bright pink.  Sozzled is a vibrant, saturated kelly green with a formula that doesn't disappoint-- a nice, not too thick, not too thin consistency requiring minimal cleanup, opaque in the standard two coats.  Finished with one layer of topcoat.

I'd like to take a moment to extoll the virtues of the Butter brush, too.  I can't think of one other brand that whose brush is as consistently good.  Wayward bristles or miscuts are often the norm on at least one polish in any given collection, but I've never had an issue with Butter's brushes and that attention to detail is commendable.

Sozzled (Brit slang for a really drunk person, if you want to know) retails for $15 and is available on Butter London's website and where butter London products are sold.

Stay tuned this week for Lolly Brights lips and eyes :) Thank you for reading and have a beautiful day!! ♥♥

  2. Perfect kelly green polish! I love that the name is Sozzled, since you often feel green the day after! ;-) (Though I would say a different shade of green, but nonetheless...)

    1. Lololol!! XD Yes, I considered that, myself. Maybe ChG Trendsetter should've been named Sozzled.

  3. This is the perfect Christmas green. It reminds me of ribbon candy. Of course, I tend to think in food. And I love your definition of a "good green creme." :D

  4. Yay a BL week!!! I am all exited and you kicked it off with my favorite from the new collection!!! You are right about a good green cream - it is a must in my eyes too, I am waiting impatiently to see it appearing with Pshiiit because this is definitely a must-have. And yes to the BL brushes EXCEPT one of my mini bottles came with a totally mashed brush - luckily I could fix the worst and managed to paint my nails anyhow (more or less) so grateful it is NOT my favorite ;-P

    1. I have a couple minis, too. They've been sitting on my to wear table since I bought them this past November, lol. I'm curious about the brushes now. Here's hoping Pshiiit is able to stock these soon! It's a SUPER pretty collection all the way around (and they're forgiven for Boho Rock, lolol). I can't wait to see this one gracing your nails, sis ♥♥

  5. This is such a gorgeous green on you, Liesl! Your description of a good green is spot on! I've been super excited for the Lolly Brights Collection ever since I saw the first promo shots pop up, and everything I've seen of them so far has lived up to my high expectations. Can't wait to see what else you'll be showing us this week from BL. :)

    1. And I can't wait to see your gorgeous swatches! I'm super curious about Airy Fairy right now-- it looks like it might be akin to Zoya Charla and the like. That was the only one my Ulta was out of, though, wouldn't you know (that and the Picadilly Circus blush, which I'm fairly certain I need, lol).
