Celestial Cosmetics Inception-- The Electric You Collection, Summer 2014

*press sample

Hi all!!  I feel another Celestial Cosmetics holofest coming on ;) This Aussie indie polish brand  is one of my very favorite indies for their wide array of gorgeous linear holo shades with perfect formulas.  Celestial and etailer Color4Nails have teamed up again to bring us a collaborative summer collection of neon holos, called The Electric You.

Because these holos are neons, it's suggested that they be worn over a white base.  I found Inception, a jelly based, bright and watery turquoise, to be perfect without (and all's the better without the telltale line of white that tends to peek through at the cuticle line).  I used two coats of Inception and one layer of topcoat.

As far as formula is concerned, Inception is on point and exactly what I've come to expect from Celestial.  Jelly based holos are wonderful and while they typically don't have the rainbow strength metallic bases do, and Inception is foolproof to apply, performs well over base and under topcoat, and boasts a much better wear time than its metallic counterparts.  Color wise, Inception is stunning but not unique.  I'm immediately reminded of Celestial's own Ocean Mist and Jade Energy; as I have both, Inception looks to be a touch lighter and a touch bluer.

The Electric You collection lands at color4nails.com on July 1, so stay tuned for more previews and mark your calendars.

    1. Well, maybe I will, just out of curiosity. I did that with the pink one last night and it was brighter... I still prefer holos au naturel, though ;)

  5. It's gorgeous, Liesl! A neon and a holo, well you can't ask for more than that. And yay for not needing a white base. :)

    1. Right?! :) I'm not sure how NEON neon this is, but it's pretty bright for a blue and I'm actually really curious about what it looks like over white.

  6. Stunning dear Liesl!!! I think turquoise is one of the best colors to create insane holos. Inception reminds me of Dance Legend High Voltage with a tad more punch in the base color. <3

    1. Gahh, Dance Legend... Now there's another brand I totally do not need to get hooked on, lol. And yes-- turquoise holos are amongst my favorites, too-- I've certainly amassed a lot of them, lol.
