Celestial Cosmetics Trip-- The Electric You Collection, Summer 2014

*press sample

Hi all!!  I seriously cannot bend my mind around the fact that it's almost July.  I actually showed up to work 45 minutes late on Monday because I was certain it was only the 16th and so followed that schedule (muh bad for not switching it out on my cork board where there is also, incidentally, a calendar).  Walking into work to choruses of "Oh THERE you are!" is so much fun, lol.

Anyway, let's move forward in my latest Celestial Cosmetics holo fest.  I've showed you two of the six neon holos from the upcoming Celestial Cosmetics/Color4Nails collaboration collection, The Electric You (Inception and Merge).  This one is Trip, a totally unique jelly based bright pumpkin linear holo that I can't really classify as neon, even over a white base.  Still, it's a fun color with a typical easy to apply Celestial formula and I dig the name.  Here it is on its own, two coats and one layer of topcoat.

You are seeing quite a bit of visible nail line and indeed, Trip is the sheerest of the three I've been able to try.  I've said before that I don't feel like layering these over a white base does anything for the holo, in fact it seems to throw less rainbow when over white.  Obviously, in this case, it eliminates vnl and I might actually enjoy the color itself more over white in this instance.  What do you think?  This is two coats of Trip over two coats of white.

  4. Hi Liesl - great post and pictures!!! This is like two polishes in one bottle!!! While the color sort of stays the same still it looks completely different when worn over white. I like both versions though I still give the solo version a slight preference - it evokes ideas of a tropical scenery at Sunset that are just too tempting ;-) <3

    1. That's a much better summer collection comparison than pumpkin, lol. I should edit and tell folks to come look at your comment for a prettier description ;)

  5. All the colors you've shown us from the collection so far have been beautiful, and this one's no different! I love the peach + holo combination! :) I can't believe it's almost July too. The time is just flying by at an alarming rate. Hope you have a great weekend! <3

    1. Another prettier description than mine! I should have let you and Christine write this one ;) It is kind of peachy over the white. Good call. All I saw was pumpkin. It is a gorgeous collection all around, truly. There's a purple one I've been swooning over, too.

  6. So you can't wrap your head around the fact that it's almost July, huh? I can beat that: I can't wrap my head around the fact that every peachy orange I'm seeing these days is to die for! You're making me question my very identity. Perfect photos per usual, chick pea. <3

    1. Lolol!! It's funny how a certain color will just totally speak to you out of the blue (though the power of suggestion around the blogosphere is quite a force). You know what I wonder, is what kind of name Pretty Jelly would have attached to this one....
