Sinful Colors Face the Facets

Hi all!!  Ever on the lookout for a good yellow am I, and while it's usually cremes I'm after, I couldn't resist the shimmery prettiness of Sinful Colors' Face the Facets (or the 99¢ deal Walgreens recently had on their SCs).

Face the Facets is a bright daffodil yellow texture polish, a rerelease for summer 2014.   It's a jelly base packed with monochromatic shimmer that flash a subtle (so subtle that I couldn't capture it on camera) yellow gold and spring green.

I used two easy coats of Face the Facets.  The finish is along the lines of the original Zoya PixieDusts, the same matte sparkle, easy application, and speedy dry time.  It's a pretty, whimsical way to wear a difficult color, striking if for no other reason than the fact that you just don't see yellow manicures too often.  It's such a happy shade, too :)

So... if you have access to a Walgreens, did you totally load up on SCs during the big sale?  If so, what's your count?  I ended up with five.  It's been fun seeing peoples SC haul photos around the polish world and I noticed a lot of gals picked up Face the Facets.

Thank you for reading and have a lovely day!! ☼☼

  1. What a fun yellow texture! I like the shimmer to it but I think I prefer the really sparkly ones more.

    1. I may yet delve into some sparklier yellows. This is the first yellow non-creme I've worn, lol.

  2. Waaaaaaaaaah! My nearest Walgreens is almost an hour away so when I am in the area, it is a total treat for me to go in there. This is so perfect on you! Reminds me of the Yellow Brick Road in Wizard of Oz too! I can just see Dorothy's ruby slippers dancing along!!! Yes, I do believe I have lost my mind with this comment!!! :-P

  3. Holy cow Liesl, is this the rescue for all lovers of yellow? It looks awesome and as opposed to so many other bold textures has no reminisence if wallpaint and it is still opaque - loooooove it ?3

    1. I think the inclusion of sparkle is key to texture polishes. I just cannot get into textured cremes and you hit the nail on the head as to why. And isn't this yellow just rockin'?! I have Zoya Darcy sitting around untried but now I know that, if that one doesn't pan out, I've already got a good one. :)

  4. I don't normally like yellow, but this is definitely gorgeous! I'm going to have to hunt for that next time I go shopping!

  6. Oh my, that's gorgeous! I'm always on the lookout for a fabulous yellow too. It's in general a hard color to wear, but when you find a good fit, the result is stunning, which this totally is!! You did such a great job of capturing the sparkles in your swatches. :D
