June Favorites!!

Hi everyone!!  I just started an instagram challenge for the month of July, and the first task was to post our June favorites, and I decided to do a full blog spot on them, since I haven't done that for a while (welcome to my stream of consciousness).

I've really been having fun playing around with accessories and I found myself drawn to chunky necklaces and menswear inspired watches.

June 2014 accessories favorites

Fred Meyer almost always has a sale running in their apparel/accessories departments and I paid under $30 for all three of these (the watch alone was regularly priced at $24.99).  I've never been drawn to costume watches before, but this style's really been calling my name lately and this was a great way to try a style and decide if it's worth investing in, or if it's just a passing fancy.  I LOVE that jadeite green, and that coral teardrop necklace has proven to be pretty versatile.

PINK NAIL POLISH!!!  Oh my gosh, there have been so many fabulous pinks released this summer.  It's pretty much the only color I want to wear right now and fortunately, I have an abundance of choices.

June 2014 favorites pink nail polish

Clockwise from the top-- Zoya Wendy, Zoya Kitridge, Zoya Rooney, Zoya Binx, Zoya Harper, Celestial Cosmetics Merge, Cult Nails Falling Hard, LVX Lolli.

I've finally figured out some good eye looks with my Urban Decay Naked Basics palette (nothing worthy of a closeup yet, but here's my palette and proof that I've actually started using it, lol... okay, you can't really see the wear in the photo but trust me, it's there).

Naked Basics

Incidentally, lol, those looks go well with my final June favorite, my Milani Bella Blue lipstick (review HERE).  Here's a shot of both.  A blue, corpse-like lip needs some dramatic eye business to bring some life back into the face.

Rush has assumed control

So wow, three posts in three days!  I feel like I'm on some kind of roll, lol.  What are you loving this summer?
Thanks for reading and have a loverly day!! ☼☼

  2. I love this post! :) From the PINKS in abundance, to the coral necklace that looks just like several I own, to the "blue, corpse-like lip"...LOLOL. And you know something...your hair color is so pretty these days...is there a hint of pink/burgundy in there?

    1. Why, thank you! Fyi, because you'll appreciate, I had some heinous grammar in there that I went in and edited. All better now :) My hair is a mix of 4 or 5 different box red shades and the most recent is the truest red I've used, so it ight be fading to what resembles pink in certain light. It definitely needs some touch up ;)

  3. I am jumping up and down here for having you on board in the challenge and cannot wait to see your contributions!!! A little something of Liesl every day ;-)! Beautiful selection of favorites - I am ONLY wearing a man watch these days, I am sure you can guess whom it belonged to... And that green necklace just PERFECT! Any of the Naked Palettes would probably make it to any of my monthly favorites, I neglect everything else (except my Bobbie Brown palette) since I own them. Your pinks really rock and looking at them it occured to me that this shade has come a long way from mumsy to totally cool. And this would not be YOU if this blue lipstick wouldn't be in ;-) PERFECT!!! <3

    1. The man's watch-- of course ♥ That is lovely, Christine. My wedding gift to C was a watch and it somehow disappeared shortly after we moved into our house. As for the Nakeds, I'm just digging matte shadows right now and I only wish NB had more mid range shades... I'm stoked you were able to finally get your hands on those palettes! You are so right about pink! I still think it's funny, the stereotype that goes along with a gal who immerses herself in that color. Well, I'll wear it with pride, lol :) And my blue lippy-- I think I might get myself a backup.

  5. Love your June favs! Pink nail polishes are awesome! I'm rediscovering them again myself. When I first started wearing nail polishes a few years ago, I gravitated towards pinks almost exclusively. Then I think I got sick of them and didn't wear them much for a while. This season, with so many gorgeous pinks, I'm feeling the love again for pink polishes. :)

    1. Yes!! Well, it's so easy when they're this pretty :) I've never not liked them but they've always felt a little too safe for me (feels like an oxymoron just typing that, lol). I didn't even include the spring Milani that kick started the l♥ve for me, lol.

  6. Eek I adore posts like this! That middle bracelet is my fave, but you could have probably guessed that. I looked at the Naked Palettes, but I ended up getting the Lorac Pro palette (I KNOW - I totally spent money on a higher end set of eye shadows. Miracles do happen). You find the coolest beauty finds. <3

    1. That is totally awesome! I love the amount of matte shadows in the Pro and I think it's a more versatile palette. I almost wish I'd gone with that one instead of Naked 1, actually, but I was all about Naked 3 that day and couldn't find it so there it is. I can't wait to hear what prompted the purchase, since I know you're such a proponent of pressing your own... Was it the siren song of so many pretties all in one place, and in such a nice package? ;) ♥ And thank you!! Fred's has always been nice, accessory wise, but I feel they've been stepping up their game recently.
