Sunday Swatch Spam (if you please)

  *contains press samples

Hi all!!  Summer is just so fabulous.  We were looking to get away to the coast this weekend but there were NO vacancies in our closest beach city, so C got busy turning our back yard into an oasis.  So we've spent much time outside this weekend, reading on our cots or lounging in our new little above ground pool with Blue Hawaiians in hand.  He even set up a sheet and projector so we could watch movies outside.  It's been so much fun.  Now, we're inside listening to thunder and waiting for the imminent downpour (can't wait!!!).  Suffice it to say, I haven't been thinking about much bloggy stuff (my mani's been chipping since yesterday and I don't care... too much, lol).  But before we do the inevitable and crawl back into bed for a couple hours, I thought I'd share some swatches of some of the stuff I've been wearing for the last few weeks.

  3. Hehe summer's a beautiful time, so it's understandable that blogging isn't first on your list. Your backyard oasis sounds wonderful. <3 Love all the colors you've been wearing recently. Darcy looks especially great... so bright and cheerful!

    1. I was pleasantly surprised by Darcy! I picked that one up thinking it was Creamy renamed but I think a slightly... I don't know...browner yellow (?) looks nicer on me, so it worked out, despite the slight mustardish tinge in the bottle :)

  4. Summer...AHHHH I hate it. Man, I hate it. I feel like I've been sweating every waking moment for about six years now. But your backyard bliss sounds so fun, especially the movie screen!! <3 And hokey smokes, I love that Julep on you!! My beloved Alegra looks completely fetching on you as well! :)

    1. Ugh, I'm so sorry :( C has always shared your sentiments but easy and quick access to a flipping cold body of water changed his mind a bit. I think we spent more time outside this weekend than we have in any past summers. And that's the way it should be, for me, anyways... I so dislike being stuck in an overly air conditioned house in long pants and socks when it's gorgeous outside. The movie screen was AWESOME!! We watched some season 2 Sherlock one night, lol :) Don't let that Julep fool you-- it has a wickedly gnarly, thick, gloopy, and streaky formula and no one is more surprised than I am that it looks so nice in macro. And yes, Alegra... ♥♥♥ I've made a dent in that bottle.

  5. Haha love that idea of C and you living in your garden, can just imagine..... awesome post, love the versatility of what you had on your nails!!! Arlo looks perfect for a long warm summer evening, no? You are advanced - I still habe OCD behaviour the second I see a chip on one of my nails - LOL. We were in the low fifties since last Monday - brrrrrrr - hope the promise of high eighties/ low nineties will come true later this week.... xxx

    1. Well, truth be told, I was in a rush to get my supergorgeousblog Matchy Matchy post up so I did a slapdash job withCult Nails Kiss, and you now how those matte/satin/waxy finish polishes behave, anyway... It started chipping as I was looking through some records in a shop downtown and at that point I just didn't care and it felt... interesting to not be completely ocd about my polish for a couple days. Refreshing. But, not something that'll happen often, lol :) Arlo has proven to be one of my most oft reached for polishes lately, which is cool because I was not in love with that collection initially. 50s?! Well, I'm just glad I'm on a different latitude than you ;) Huzzah for warmer days this week!

  6. What incredibly gorgeous spam! I definitely miss you :( I feel like all I do is work anymore so my blog is vacant, but for a much less fun reason. You should post pics of the oasis <3

  7. Wow, Caviar is a step in an experimental direction for LVX, huh? Usually they've stuck to cremes so far. I like it! I also love how you're into LVX- I love the brand a lot too! :D

Also, I'm not a huge fan of Summer...too hot for me. But this week, the "Polar Vortex" has resulted in some beautiful weather- I'm loving it!

    1. Yes, I was pretty stoked to see that one, and it's GOOD! Maybe not my favorite iteration of texture, but I adore black polish and this one is cool looking and long lasting.

Last year, I was ready for summer to be over as soon as it began. Three months of no amount of crunches doing anything to stave off water weight gain when you want to look as tight as possible is highly infuriating... As it turns out, not eating a can of Pringles every day helps to alleviate the problem XD
