Gloss N Sparkle Symmetry, Above Deck, and Harlot

Hi everyone!  Gloss N Sparkle is a new to me Aussie indie line of gorgeous effects polishes.  I'm excited to show you three of their core line.

First up is Symmetry, a black jelly base packed with small and medium sized holographic hexes in shades of aqua and olive.  Polishes like this make me nervous for a few reasons-- the density of the glitter usually means the layers on the nail are going to be pretty thick, and there's the ever present possibility of the glitters being obscured in such a dark base, a la Orly Androgynie {HERE}; also, black jelly bases are usually a clue that you'll need an opaque black creme underneath to bring the color to its full potential.  None of this is true with Symmetry, though.  Not only is this beauty opaque in two coats, the glitters flow freely and easily onto the nail and they are fully visible in the dark base.  This polish is magic.  One layer of topcoat made Symmetry perfectly glossy and smooth.

Above Deck is a turquoise jelly base packed with shimmer and tiny turquoise and holographic glitters.  It's got the slightest aqua green duochrome shift in the bottle; I couldn't find it on my nail.  Don't think that matters, though, because this polish is liquid gorgeous sparkling pristine water on a perfectly clear day beautiful and catches the light in the most amazing ways.  Above Deck applies beautifully-- I used two coats plus one layer of topcoat.

Harlot is not as naughty as its name suggests.  It's a deep raspberry jelly based shimmer with superfine holographic bits with a gorgeous, almost glassfleck, finish, and easily the most classic of these three.  I found myself wanting to matte finish this baby in a big way, too (keep your eyes peeled for that, because I think all three of these would look pretty awesome mattified).  Harlot boasts another perfect formula-- I used two easy coats plus one layer of topcoat.

In summation, I feel like all three of these polishes would be welcome additions to any collection and if you have a particular affinity for Aussie indies, first impressions say this line is top notch.  My black polish-loving, glitter-shy heart adores the easy application of Symmetry, Above Deck is pure and simple eye candy, and Harlot is rich looking and elegant.  Gloss N Sparkle polishes are available for international sale for $11 each through color4nails.com.

  3. These are all so gorgeous. I actually think my favorite one is Symmetry, simply because I am fascinated that it's an all-in-one that doesn't look like an all-in-one. The raspberry shimmer is fantastic, but sheeeeesh...that name...Love your pics. <3

    1. YES, I was so pleasantly surprised by Symmetry, and your description is exactly what I was more or less thinking. It reminds me of that Emily de Molly Forces of Something Or Other that was bowling people over earlier in the year but without those big circle glitters. And that naaaaame. Yeah... I thought about working in a Rahab reference because I have a small, sneaking suspicion she *might* have been the inspiration (don't ask me why, lol) but then I didn't want to rewrite the whole thing. :p
