Zoya Harlow-- Matte Velvet Collection

*press sample

Hi everyone!!  Of the six rereleased Zoya Matte Velvets, the most highly anticipated is cult classic Harlow. Last holiday season, Zoya did a special repromote of four of the matte shades and Harlow was left out.  The Faeries that be have done a marvelous job of whetting our collective polish appetites and the inclusion of Harlow in this relaunch has indeed sent many hearts aflutter, and mine along with them.  Being one who missed Harlow the first go around, I couldn't wait to see how it actually panned out.

Zoya Harlow-- Matte Velvet Collection
I was reading through one of those desert island scenario threads in one of my facebook groups and one gal stated quite specifically that she would choose the original Harlow, which leads me to believe there are some differences but I don't know what they might be or if this is even true.  If you know anything, I'd love to be informed.  This Harlow is a cool, blue toned matte magenta with an abundance of silver shimmer.  Its actual finish is most similar to Loredana {HERE}, but unlike Loredana's wet multicolored shimmer, Harlow's is monochromatic and silver, both wet and dry.  It's a pretty color... not my favorite.  I'm stoked to have it in my collection, though.  Two coats over OPI Ridge Filler base.  NO TOP COAT.

Harlow is available on zoya.com for $9.

Thank you for reading and have a lovely day!! ♥

    1. Nice! Purple to blue to red multichromes tend to do that to me. I hope you find yourself satiated soon :D

  15. Beautiful swatches! This is a nice color for sure! I'm on the fence though since I saw a similar shade in the Jesse's Girl satin finish collection and I might be content with that for $2.99. I might be completely wrong about it though since I don't think it has those silver sparkles....decisions decisions!!

    1. Usually, if something's that similar I say pass but these Matte Velvets really are remarkable! At least go check out the swatch wheel in Ulta ;)

  16. Okay, this one I like more betterer than Loredana...aren't you shocked? :P I wonder if the difference is the shimmer? You said these wear well, so maybe those original ones that chipped so badly didn't have the shimmer? Without the shimmer they kinda seem chalky...I can see them chipping badly.

    1. I was thinking it's a slight color variation. Older blog posts say rose and this isn't rose by any stretch of the imagination (at least, not mine). All photos are, of course, deceiving. Regarding chipping, I cleaned the kitchen in one and washed my hair in another and I had some slight chipping on a couple nails with weak spots. I don't know if that's more my shape or the basecoat I've been using but I've been so pleasantly surprised by these.
