The other day I received a new product in the mail-- a bottle of Color4Nails Crystalline Nail Veil, one of a new generation of nail art cleanup products. I admit to having a fairly elongated "Oooookaaaay....." moment as I realized what I was being asked to review because these products are primarily used to make water marbling and stamping cleanup a whole lot easier. If you check out my label cloud in my lower right sidebar, you might note my experience and interest in such art... and, well, art in general.

My single color/swatch application is neat, and I very seldom have to do any cleanup and certainly nothing major, so this product seemed quite superfluous to me. Once in a while I get a notion and I like to do saran wrap manicures because they look cool, kind of abstract and earthy, if you will, and most important, they're easy to pull off. I decided to mess around with another one of those to demonstrate this Nail Veil to its full potential.

Pay attention to the above photo, because it's important. This product is latex based so steer clear if you have an allergy, and stop using it if you develop any sort of reaction.

The brush is long and thin, making this product ideal for nail art beyond cleanup, as well. The concept is simple-- apply Color4Nails Crystalline Nail Veil anywhere you don't want polish--so frame your nails with it, basically. Let it dry for about five minutes, and then you're ready to work!

Because the Veil is latex based, it pulls up cleanly and neatly and takes all the polish it caught with it (obviously I have a couple areas in need of touch up). Pretty cool, no?

I recently started using liquid latex to help me in my cleanup and I don't know how I never used it before!
ReplyDeleteIt's pretty ingenious! I don't know why it's not been thought of before.
DeleteLooks good! I've been wanting to get some liquid latex to use and its nice to see more companies come out with them in convenient packaging.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely, and this one's totally affordable, too.
DeleteI've seen a few posts about the liquid latex. Such a great ideal for nail artists. Makes like a lot easier too :-)
ReplyDeleteTotally! It *almost* makes me want to give water marbling another go.
DeleteI'm pretty interested in products like this. It is cool to know they really work!
ReplyDeleteThey do! And next time I get a wild hair I'll be reaching for this :)
DeleteGreat to see how well this works, I'll be trying mine out soon!! Love the mani too! :P
ReplyDeleteRight on! I can't wait to see what gorgeousness you come up with ♥
DeleteWhat a brilliant innovation! It pretty much eradicates use of tape and/or Vaseline. Need a bottle - or half a dozen - in my life!
ReplyDeleteIt really is! And this one is priced so nice you can totally stock up without a second thought.
DeleteI saw this the other day on another blog. What a great product and not all that expensive.
ReplyDeleteExactly! Nothing wrong with this one, at all :)
DeleteCute polish mani. I just seen this on another blog and man... I surely need something like this. I'm such a mess.
ReplyDeleteYou're so cute :) I would've given my eyeteeth for a product like this when I first started doing my nails, that's for sure! ♥
DeleteThese products have totally changed my life, I used to the clean up from stamping and gradients but this makes it so easy!
ReplyDeleteThey're genius, right? I can't believe these products haven't been around for longer.
DeleteAhhh, latex. How this hearkens back to the college days of theatrical makeup. I'll never forget that smell of the latex casting room. But I digress...this makes total sense and I never thought of it before. Your SW mani is pretty too. I love the pink and grey. <3<3
ReplyDeleteYeah, the smell of latex is gnarly. I'd rather not imagine being in a room full of it. And thank you :)
DeleteHow did you sign up to test new products out?
