Penélope Luz Gitana and Bellatrix

*press samples

Goooood morning!!  Believe me when I say that likely comes across as much more chipper than I actually feel, lol.  I start to feel a little cranky when either faced with multiple mornings of having to wake up to my alarm or in the middle of one such sequence.  I know that sounds spoiled.  My job gives me hours all over the board, though, and there is nothing, NOTHING, better than sleeping in.  Going back to bed is a close second.
Also, I have a touch of eczema around my lips and chin and a recent... uhh... "salon treatment" has not been so kind to me and I'm not feeling overly pretty right now.  Sorry for the tmi and the complete deviation from the topic at hand.  I'm sure this was NOT what you intended to read when you kindly chose to open this page today.

So those polishes up there are a couple Penélope Luz offerings, and the last in my parade of Awesome Brazilian Glitters.  I fully expected Gitana to be another flashy red glitter bomb à la Wednesday's Dorothy Shoes, but it's not.  In fact, for as packed as the bottle looks, it's surprisingly sparse.  It's a cherry red jelly base with quite a bit going on inside-- small and medium red hexes, black hexes, and little gold and holo glitters.  It's one of those cool jelly sandwich in a bottle polishes and for that kind of base, it's surprisingly opaque.  I used two coats.

Bellatrix is a blackened jelly base packed with tiny rainbow glitters. This glitter does translate on the nail the same as in the bottle, which is good and saturated.  The base reads more and more indigo the more layers you apply.  I used three.  It gives the glitter remarkable depth BUT it makes for kind of a thick manicure.

Both polishes applied beautifully and neither were overly topcoat hungry.  I used one coat of Seche Vite over each polish.
