Fall Favorites and Happy Caturday Poll!!

  Hi all!!  With autumn's changing leaves and falling temps, comfort food and delicious hot drinks, and cozy sweaters, boots, and scarves, comes a rich palette of classic colors and an even richer array of fragrances.  I feel my prettiest when the cool hits.  Here are a few of my perennial fall cosmetic and perfume loves.

  Happy Caturday, guys and gals!!  August came in like a lion, lol, with a big night-long thunderstorm.  It's though to choose between watching a spectacular light show and sleeping, I must admit, but sleep sort of naturally won out.  It was wonderful to drift off to thunder rumbling, though... Just the coolest thing ever, electrical storms (as long as the lightening doesn't touch down).

  Anyhoo, July was a really fun product month as I discovered four products that I've been pretty much living in.

This Week's Haul and Happy Caturday Poll!

  Hey everyone!!  I know I usually post early, but his morning was busier than usual, on account of getting to watch one of my nieces play little league softball.  The game was super fun-- she connected with the ball for the first time and hit a homer, no less.  Way to make your first matter, right?  C and I are so proud of her.  We all went out for ice cream afterwards (or, rather, they went out for ice cream and I had a salad, HOORAY FOR GOOD CHOICES!!) and after some errand running, we made it home 4ish and promptly took a nap.  I wasn't going to post at all, but I found my mind reeling with fun questions to ask, plus I got some good mail this week, so here we are!

Current e.l.f. Favorites, Small Drugstore Haul, and Happy Caturday Poll!!

  Happy Caturday, everyone!!  I've really been interested in e.l.f. products lately, not the makeup, though I love the matte lip colors, but the tools.  First off, I think it's great that there are now so many good quality drugstore bland makeup brushes available.  I admit that for a long time I did not wear certain makeup until I could afford a brush to properly apply it.  Something about applying eyeshadows, blushes, and powders with the spongey material they're so often packaged with really turned me off and I slowly built up a (very) small arsenal of brushes.  We all know that brushes allow for a much more natural look and I've always felt like we owe our faces the courtesy of treating them with a little more luxury than a two inch sponge tip applicator or foam square can provide.
  The good news is that we don't have to break the bank for high end brushes costing upwards of $20 a piece or settle for a rough synthetic bristled experience.  Technology has improved and this is one of those cases of HOW did drugstore makeup companies not figure this out earlier?  I wonder if it came with the advent of high-def and the realization that with all this new visual technology maximizing every pore and follicle, higher quality products to help all of us look our best became necessity.  Whatever it is, there are some fabulous synthetic brushes available at amazing prices now, and e.l.f. is amongst the most affordable and amongst the best, of what I've tried.  Most their Studio (black label) line retails for $3 per piece, and I have a new favorite blush brush.

Spring Polish Picks and Happy Caturday Poll!

  Hi all!!  Well, my famous hand is completely roached at the moment.  Not only am I back to short squares after an unfortunate couple of breaks (note to self-- just remove the polish with remover at home and make due with chipping in public.  It'll work out for the best), a hang nail/cat claw ordeal, and then another break on my pinky that's left that nail completely uneven.  This hand is a little thrashed so no nail blogging for me for a while.  So, that means more makeup type posts (and maybe another Wantable accessories; I haven't decided if I want the April box yet), and maybe for a few of you, that's a good, thing, lol.  

  I used to see seasonal picks posts all the time but I haven't for over a year.  Maybe they're not a "thing" anymore, or maybe I'm just not paying attention to them (which would be odd, because I love lists).  Anyhoo, I decided to round up my favorite polishes for this spring, my favorites from new collections and the colors I've felt most drawn to.  There are lots of cremes.  Celebrate what you like, I say!

Maybelline Baby Skin Review/Happy Caturday Poll

  Hi friends!!  I should be working on continuing education credits for work (six more hours due by March 31) but I just can't get my brain in any sort of place to do such a thing.  So, I'm going to try and multitask and get a few things accomplished whilst I sit at the computer this fine afternoon.

  I've been a devotee of Too Faced Primed & Poreless for over a year, but I'm always on the lookout for a drugstore primer that does the job at a fraction of P&P's price.  Maybelline was on sale BOGO 1/2 off at Fred Meyer last week, so I picked up my second tube of the cherry flavored Baby Lips and the new Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser.  I've been curious about the silicone-based primer since reading about it on Pretty Panda Makeup (post HERE, and if you're not following, you should be).
  
  I tossed the packaging (sorry) but on the front there's a small graphic demonstrating what this product is supposed to do-- in one frame, there's a drawing of a bunch of in-focus dots (your pores) and in the next, the same drawing, but out of focus.  The idea is simple-- this product is supposed to soften and blur the harsh definition of larger pores.  It's meant specifically for those areas, too, so I've been using this as a spot treatment.

  Happy Caturday, all!!  I don't really tend to purchase a ton of makeup during any given month, and my polish buying has really tapered off, too, but I kind of went a little crazy during February (for me, anyway, lol).  So, I thought I'd tell you what I've really been enjoying this month (reviews imminent!).
