Hi everybody! I'm pretty stoked about all the exciting things happening at Butter London, aka my favorite nail polish company. You may or may not have heard that they've branched out into color cosmetics. Those wonderful polish-matched lippies were just the tip of the iceberg and now they've got a full-fledged collection, full of bold and classic colors alike. This week, I'll be featuring a small smattering of the colorfulness in store and I'm kicking it off with one of their new Cheeky Cream Blush colors, Naughty Biscuit.
The case is slick, glossy, and luxe, and contains a mirror.
Naughty Biscuit is a healthy looking pinky-nude cream blush with a deceptively demure package appearance. It's quite pigmented and gives the vital, natural glow of someone who's just done something vigorous (like running bleachers...). I feel like there's a bit of a learning curve in applying cream blushes. Butter London suggests this be applied with your fingertips rather than a brush, and after having done both, I concur. A brush deposits way too much color and you'll end up using your fingers to blend, anyway.
Here's Naughty Biscuit, swatched on my forearm, one swipe with my index finger. The formula is super creamy and blendable, giving you plenty of time to work if you've applied a little too much, which is easy to do, even when using your fingers. It's best to use a light touch. I swipe the color once with my ring and pinky, and blend onto the apples of my cheeks up to my hairline.
Naughty Biscuit is a really versatile color. Because of its neutrality, it can be used with a bold eye or lip for a dramatic look, but its saturated color plays perfectly with minimal eye and lip color for a blush as centerpiece look. You've probably read at some point that it's best to put the focus on one feature at a time-- if you're looking for a bright, flushed cheek as your highlight, Naughty Biscuit is perfect. (Obvi that's not what I did here... that lip color is one of Butter London's new Tinted Balms. Stay tuned for that write up).
Naughty Biscuit and the rest of the Cheeky Cream Blushes retail for $20, which might seem a little steep. If you're used to cream blushes, though, you'll fall in love with the formula, and if you're not used to them, this is a great place to start. The color is beautifully workable and buildable and really perfect for any occasion.
Naughty Biscuit is available for sale at Ulta and on butterlondon.com. Like Butter London on facebook to stay abreadth of specials and new releases.
Thank you for reading and have a lovely day!
