Good Sunday afternoon!! It's quickly approaching 100 degrees out for the second day in a row. I really do love the heat, but it's also nice to be able to retreat back into a nicely air conditioned house, lol.
So here's another something new; a beauty product. LLPT is pretty all-encompassing as a title, and I've really been enjoying this bb cream I bought a week or so ago. I thought I'd tell you all about it, because soft, dewy skin is indeed a pretty thing, lol.
You may or may not have been seeing ads for a new product called BB cream. Originating in Asia, BB stands for Beauty Balm, or Blemish Balm, and acts as a moisturizer, primer, and foundation in one. I've been a bare minerals devotee for years, but I was enticed by the idea of a natural looking, lightweight finish for summer. L'Oreal and I have always gotten along, so I chose their formula, called Magic Skin Beautifier.
I've seen this described as a tinted moisturizer, and it is, to a certain degree. I've tried tinted moisturizers before, though, and been disappointed in their formulae, which is never as light as they claim. This stuff is different, though. It comes out a soft, white cream with grey microbeads that, when blended, break open and react with the white base to turn the cream into a fleshtone.
When fully blended in, the result is a dewy, flawless, light, soft to the touch finish that I'm absolutely in love with.
I'm not sure what I initially expected, but I do know I was surprised at this. I've never been into liquid or cream foundations, or anything resembling either, so when this BB cream started turning into a flesh color, I was immediately skeptical. It covers beautifully and fully, though, and looks refreshingly light, and can be worn comfortably without anything under it, or over. No additional product needed. It moisturizes adequately and doesn't leave my skin feeling too tight or too oily (a small miracle, since my skin tends to run pretty oily). This stuff truly is magical, lol. It holds up well in the summer heat, too.
L'Oreal Magic Skin Beautifyer BB Cream comes in four shades (I'm wearing light) and can be found for around $11 on the L'Oreal website and wherever L'Oreal is sold.
So, any thoughts? Have you tried a BB cream yet? Do you plan to?
Thanks for reading!! :)
I've been seeing these BB creams pop up everywhere. I'm intrigued...may have to try one. :)
ReplyDeleteYou should! This one's pretty cool. :)
DeleteI saw a review of BB creams by emilynoel83, and she said this once was the best of those she had tried.
ReplyDeleteI am planning on buying it, so great to hear that you liked it too, makes me even more sure, to go and get it.
Awesome, Dina! I hope you like it as much as I do. :)
DeleteI've been using the Garnier BB Cream - now you make me want to try this. I love the Garnier one!
ReplyDeleteI've heard good things about the Garnier, like it's closer to its Asian counterparts than most the US formulae (like this one). I'd like to try the Garnier, as well.
DeleteI have never tried a BB cream before, but I keep hearing good things... maybe your review will push me over the BB edge and I will try the L'oreal one. :)
ReplyDeleteI don't know much about any of them besides this one, but I have read that it's far superior to the Maybelline. I'm certainly pleased with it. :)
DeleteI love BB creams and have tried many, some hits & some misses..I actually didnt know about this one and haven't seen it near me yet..thanks to your great review I will be keeping my eye out for it now:)
ReplyDeleteSara xx
Cool, Sara! I must've lucked out on my first try. ;)
DeleteI love BB cream but the 'light' is never light enough for my skin unfortuently!
ReplyDeleteTess, there's one shade lighter than light in this line. It's called fair.
