A couple months back, Julep gave their first 5000 mavens the option to choose a bonus polish to go with the box for that month, and I chose Gayle. I'd been sort of eyeing this color since I joined, it did not disappoint!
It's kind of gorgeous, dark and elegant without being edgy or vampy.

Julep's website describes this color as a "deep, royal aubergine" so I thought I'd compare it to an actual eggplant.
This is one coat, by the way. I've heard Julep's cremes are. I have three, but this is the first one I've found that to be totally true about. It makes for a relatively quick manicure before bed, which is awesome, in my book. :)
I just HAD to go hunting for your original Gayle post!
ReplyDeleteI still think it looks good, ok, maybe a HAIR messier around the cutes than your post from yesterday, but STILL - very nice.
I was seriously wondering if you bought an eggplant just to take pics with it, and then I noticed the very corner of a price sign & giggled to myself. ;D I could totally see myself doing that - hey, I don't wanna spend $ on this (since the cost is prolly equal to a bottle of drugstore polish), but I need to take a pic with it for my blog...doo doo doo...nobody's looking? QUICK - cell phone camera! SNAP :D
Aww, you're sweet :) I remember being particularly proud of my paint job that day, lol. I got a compliment from the checkout gal, too. I thought I was terribly clever with tht eggplant. ;p I work in a pharmacy attatched to a grocery store, an I went out on my last break and took a few phone camera shots. I'm sure people thought I was nuts and I suppose they were right, lol.
