I've done this combo before, taken pics, and posted them. And I'm doing it again, because I love it. There's a trend right now called mannequin hands, the idea being that you match your polish as close to your skin tone as you can, thus giving the illusion of longer, thinner fingers (much like nude heels are supposed to elongate your legs.) Creeeepy and I don't know that it succeeds in creating this illusion, but WetnWild Private Viewing is a fantastic pinky beige that does match my skin tone, and I think it looks cool.
This is two coats, and clearly it is super sheer. I've done three, but I find it to be prettiest in a sheerer form.
WetnWild's Megalast colors (of which Private Viewing is one) have very wide brushes that seem to be quite polarizing. I love them. They are tapered to fit the curve of the nail perfectly, and wide enough to cover my pinky in one stroke, other fingers easily in two.
One of these days I'll stick with this look, because I love it (and I can't wait for OPI's NYC Ballet collection to hit the shelves) but this time I had to layer with my lovely Julep Emma, again.
Emma turns the whole thing pink and shimmery (and looks kind of amazing over black, too.) I keep thinking how perfect for a wedding this combo is.
One last thing before I go crash on the couch for a while (nothing like being sick during the first warm weekend of the year... grrr.) April over at Munia's Nails is hosting a giveaway to celebrate reaching 100 followers (I should host one at 10... lol. Just kidding.) April is the holographic and hard to find polish queen and is sharing some of her spoils with two lucky winners. Follow her blog and enter the giveaway here.
Oooh so pretty and shimmery! I am so glad you decided to keep blogging <3
ReplyDeleteThanks dear :):) Me, too.
DeleteI really like it with Emma on top!
ReplyDeleteI like Emma a lot. :) She takes away the vnl, but if it's a light neutral, I don't mind vnl at all. :)
