What a crazy, crazy weekend this has been. We hosted two parties, yesterday a baby shower for one of C's cousins, and today a Mother's Day barbecue for my family. Having those two little cats earned me a bouquet of red carnations from my parents and a couple lottery tickets from my youngest sis. Whatever shall I buy if I win? Hmmm....
I decided to give a couple of my new Zoyas from the Surf collection a proper wearing. Here's Rory.
Rory was the first one of the new Surf collection that really caught my eye. It's a lilac laced, silvery pink with an incongruence to its shimmer that translates as textured and a little bit muted. It's unusual and gorgeous, and I especially love how it looks in the shade (bottom photo). It applied with typical Zoya ease, which is great when you've got guests arriving in an hour, you've got to make an emergency run to the grocery store, and you haven't even begun to work on your nails.
YES, yes, a foot shot, because I love these colors and they look so pretty next to each other! That's Zuza on my toesies. :)
My mom's been in Holland, Germany, and Luxembourg for the past three weeks so today was her welcome home party, too. She showed us some amazing photos of the famous flowers and some great World War I historical shots, and she brought back some presents...
Catrice Heavy Metallilac, Max Factor Deep Mauve (she said she went to three places and could not find Fantasy Fire, by the way), and Gosh Ocean. Thanks Mom, you did awesome!! I can't wait to wear these.
And with that, I'm kind of exhausted and ready to veg the rest of the night.
Happy Mother's Day, have an excellent evening, and thank you for reading. :)
