Zoya Josie

Good morning!!  Do you ever look at a color in photos, then see it in real life and be a little surprised, not because the photos aren't color accurate, but because your mind was playing tricks on you?  The first swatches of Zoya Josie I saw were pretty much like mine, a light to medium blue-leaning green creme, but my mind wanted to see this, or even this, and despite it being another Steely Dan named color, I wasn't sure how much I needed another green creme in my life.

In the end, I decided it was highly necessary for me to have a polish named Josie in my collection (she's the raw flame, the live wire; she prays like a Roman with her eyes on fire... with apologies to Walter Becker and Donald Fagen).

Josie is a beautifully unique green creme.  It's a true jade green, lighter in color and reminiscent of the beautiful carving stone and maybe a little of those cool Fire King glassware pieces that are so expensive right now.
Application was slightly difficult for me.  For some reason, I've always had some trouble with Zoya cremes-- the formula's a little on the thin side, it's a little hard to control, the brush deposits a little too much polish on my nail, even after I wipe the excess.  Still, the color is wonderful and is perfectly streak free in two coats.

Zoya Josie is part of this summer's Stunning collection of cremes and is available on Zoya's website or your local Ulta.

Thanks for reading and have a lovely day! ♥

  2. This is such a great jade green color!! I love it. I'm in love with my Orly Ancient Jade that's around that same color family and this one is awesome too!

  3. I love Josie. I thought the same thing, that it was closer to Revlon Posh. But it is quite different. You did a great job capturing it's beauty! Awesome pics Liesl!

    2. Lolol, so do I. But there's so many typos I make with my phone that I don't catch that I've learned to be more understanding of others', lol. This polish reminded me that I need to wear Posh again, soon, but yes, this is just such a cool color and I'm honestly enjoying it way more than I thought I would.

  5. Hi sis - now Josie is exactly down my alley, and I am with Melissa, seeing your immaculate photos I cannot fathom any difficulties with application. Now I have the same issues with some of my Zoya cremes, no matter what I use as Base Coat - oh well..... How did you like the Zoya remover??? xxx

    1. You're so sweet, sis :) Zoya Remove... Taking off a foil, especially a Zoya foil, isn't really a good measure of how good a remover is because they're such a pain to fully take off, but it seemed to work as well as pure acetone, and I do like the fragrance. It's stiill a little more than I'd like to spend on remover, as fast as I go through it, and you know what I mean there ;)

  6. I have Zoya Josie... and I too had trouble with the formula, but I thought it was just me though. I prefer the richer greens, but I do like the look of this green. It certainly looks good on you. :<)

    1. Thanks, sweets! I wasn't particularly taken by this summer's offerings, but the greens in both Stunning and Irresistible proved to live up to their names for me, lol. ;p
