Butter London Sunbaker

*press sample

I adore this summer's collection from Butter London.  Rather than the bold, bright, and neon colors we're all used to seeing this time of year, these colors are all tropical paradise-- glistening sand, bronzed skin, champagne, and pristine waters-- completely gorgeous.  This is Sunbaker.

Sunbaker is a gleaming and warm burnt orange metallic packed with shimmer and a serious glow.  Remember Shag, the gorgeously glowy burnt copper metallic from Butter London's fall/winter collection from last year?  Sunbaker is its beautiful summer counterpart.  Sunbaker applies with typical Butter ease-- two coats, no unevenness, and NO brushstrokes.  Amazing.  I'm totally in love with this color and could easily live in this collection this summer.

So I have to say that BL got this color spot-on... It's reminiscent of the folks who lay out in the sun for hours on end, and indeed, it reminds me of a gal C and I passed every day on our honeymoon.  It didn't matter what we were headed off to do, what meal we were about to eat, there this gal was, lying poolside and turning this very color.  Wear your sunscreen and big brimmed hats, gals.  Porcelain is coming back in style.  Sunbaker-- pretty on the nails, not on the skin. ♥

Sunbaker is available for purchase on the Butter London website for $15.  Like them on facebook to keep up to date on all sales and specials.

Thanks for reading and have a lovely day!

  1. Wow what a glowing color on your nails! This is so pretty :) Never tried Butter London polishes but I've heard there pretty good quality. The price is just a little too high for me to purchase one though, lol.

  3. What an amazing color! I love it.
But I already own OPI - DS Luxurious so I think I'll pass on this one.

    1. Ooh, DS Luxurious... I waited too long on that one when my Ulta had it in stock and I haven't seen it since. I think this one's a little more burnt orange, a little more monochromatic. I could totally deal with owning both. ♥

  5. I too love that BL Summer Shades are of the bronze, tropical shades. This looks so gorgeous on your nails, however this a color that I couldn't pull off *sigh*

    1. Isn't the whole collection just lovely? As far as puling the color off... I was a little concerned when I saw the bottle, I must admit. I was pleasantly surprised, lol... not that a shade being unflattering to me keeps me from continually trying to wear it...

    1. You're so sweet :) This does look like burning embers... maybe a better analogy than an overdone sun worshipper, lol.

  9. This is a gorgeous colour. Orange doesn't suit me but this looks amazing on you. 'Sunbaker' is such an apt name :) x

    1. Red or brown leaning oranges seem to do alright on me. I never feel like I can pull off the creamsicle colors. I think I might have laughed out loud when I realized just how perfectly matched this color is to its name. ;)

  10. LOVE this on you! I love polishes that glow. But I will have to find a glowing purple or something else because orange is frightening on me. And I luuuvvvv your jewelry shot. <3 <3 <3 Oh, and by the way, I just purchased a large quantity of Duri Rejuvacote in the attempt to grow my nails one tenth as nicely as you've done.

    1. Nah, you just need to find the right one :) Glowy purple, though... speaking of BLs, I still need Pitter Patter.
I hope the Rejuvacote works for you! I don't follow the instructions on the box. I use it only as a basecoat, just as an fyi.

  11. Hi sis - Sunbaker looks gorgeous on you!!! Just ordered Marbs from that Collection - I was tempted by Sunbaker but orangey copper tones look gruesome next to my skin but this is exactly what I love with BL, they never shy away from going outside the general pattern. And I sure support the porcellaine trend - I never had the patience to roast on the beach and my skin shows its gratefulness with approaching age!!! And I love your necklace <3

    1. Marbs ♥ I think I need to get that one, too. Totally glistening sandy beaches. And that's the amazing thing with Butters, they're the classiest colors but they're consistently a little outside the box! Have you seen the fall/winter collection yet? Lots of gals are saying that the summer and fall collections sould have been juxtaposed, and it's like, no, they're exactly what they should be. Viva la difference :)

    2. I have seen pictures of their fall Collection and I am so with you!!! I love that there will be colors outside the to be expected colors!!! I need to go now and read your post on Poole ;-)

  14. It's amazing! Do you think it's very close to OPI Deutsch You Want Me Baby?

    1. We-e-ell, I don't have Deutsch, but I just looked up some swatches and Deutsch looks like it has a lot more red in it, a little richer and darker. Sumbaker's brighter with more golden tones. To me, they don't seem that close; same family, different shades.
