12 Days of Christmas Nails!! Day 2-- OPI Ski Slope Sweetie

Good morning!!  IT'S SNOWING HERE!!!  It's not a ton, it just started, but it is snowing and it is sticking!  Snow is exciting and novel here.  We don't get two feet overnight in sub zero temps that make it at best unpleasant and at worst impossible to leave the house.  We all just kind of collectively squeal with delight, then forget how to drive, then panic and flood the local Les Schwab for our studded tires and chains.  Then, by 10am everything is back to normal. lol.

So Day 2 in my 12 Days of Christmas Nails isn't any fancy schmancy layering duo (thank you for your feedback and encouragement in that area yesterday ♥).  It's simply my favorite from OPI's holiday Mariah Carey collection, one that, as soon as I saw Yun wear it, I knew I had to have one.  She captured it perfectly; I need a new light setup, lol (this weekend).  This is Ski Slope Sweetie, a sheer, pristine, pearly white full of pink, blue, and predominantly gold microshimmer.  It's like OPI took the microshimmer of OY-- Another Polish Joke and put it in an airy white base rather than a clear.  The effect is beautiful, like a blanket of snow on a clear night.  I used three coats plus one layer of topcoat.

Ski Slope Sweetie is surprisingly opaque in three coats, and I've had more visible nail line with darker polishes.  I like the semi-sheer, peek-a-boo trait in light polishes especially, and this one reminds me of gossamer.  This one is very easy to apply and while it looks a tab gloopy coming out of the bottle, it doesn't build up thick at all.  It also has incredible wear time!  I feel like this is mostly subjective but for someone whose nails usually show significant tipwear by day 2, this was a very pleasant surprise.  It's also worth noting that the shimmers are quite abundant and MUCH more noticeable in real life, the effect being all over rather than a gold flash, like my photos suggest.  All in all, it's a lovely and delicate thing, consummately winter and the perfect addition to a festive dress or an ugly Christmas sweater (which I may or may not be wearing today).
Ski Slope Sweetie is available for $9 where OPI products are sold.

Thank you for reading and have a loverly day! ♥♥

    1. Well, it hasn't exactly ended as I attempted to foresee. It snowed off and on all day and it was quite treacherous for folks unaccustomed, lol. Bummer that this wouldn't look fab on you! It seems like something you'd love.

    2. They were forecasting that we might get some, but we didn't. Was just as well though... people here have trouble driving if it even rains a little lol... they definitely can't handle snow. :P
