12 Days of Christmas Nails!! Day 3-- Hot Mess Lacquers Across The Trailer Park

Hi everybody!!  Day 3 of my 12 Days of Christmas Nails is Hot Mess Lacquers Across The Trailer Park.  There's something to be said for posting about a purchase in a timely fashion, especially, I'm thinking, if it's an indie.  I've been sitting on this glitter for a year and it seems the etsy shop has gone the way of the dodo and the facebook page hasn't been updated since April.  It made a bit of a splash for being one of the first, and only, copies of Deborah Lippmann's smash hit Across The Universe.  Fortunately, there are other easy to acquire copies out there now, but this one is mine.

Across The Trailer Park is a royal blue jelly base filled with small metallic kelly green and cerulean hex glitters and tiny cerulean glitters.  The base is super sheer and the glitter quite chunky, so I put down one coat of Revlon Royal before layering two coats of Across The Trailer Park.

Since Across The Trailer Park is no longer available, talking about the formula is kind of a moot point but I'll do it anyway, lol.  It is a chunky glitter, as I said, but it applies nicely and evenly and didn't give me any issues with spreading or clumping (and I've officially used my two least favorite descriptive words in this post... bonus points if you can name them :/).  I used two layers of topcoat to smooth out the finish.

The duo is pretty much completely magical and gorgeous, but why is it Christmassy?  Well, because it is a glitter and because I'm most comfortable sporting these things outside of my lightbox, regardless of how tasteful and pretty they might be, during this season of sparkle.  Also, I picked this up last year at about this time and the association stuck.

It's been unseasonably cold here the past few weeks and this weekend has been one of particularly low temps.  I took this last shot outside in the shade early yesterday morning and I think it looks every bit as cold as it felt, lol.  We might have been up to 20 degrees by this time, which I realize is nothing by some of your standards but by ours, it means hunker down and don't leave your immediate vicinity until absolutely necessary.

Anyhoo, sorreh for being a bad blogger and posting something that's no longer available... After a very small amount of research, though, I see there are Essence, Icing, and Sally Hansen copies available, as well as the original.

Thank you for reading and have a warm and toasty day! ♥♥

    1. I know, I know... Hey, this is the first time in my life I've experienced single digit temps and I don't like it one bit, lol. It was nice and cozy in our house, I'll admit, but my skin's been freaking out. I'm so done!! haha.. Anyhoo, thank you thank you!! I agree about Revlon Royal, it's such a beauty.

    1. It's actually two polishes, both jellies, and the base I used is nearly identical in shade to ATTP's base, just more saturated.

  5. Ooh I love it! Too bad it isn't available anymore. I think I would go with something more 'traditional' of christmas, I did not even think of blue when I hear christmas, lol!

    1. Lool, half of my association with this one is the fact that I bought it this time of year... kind of a stretch, I know. I totally associate blue with Christmas (I think Zoya Song is the perfect Christmas blue) but I did feel like I was reaching with this one. Oh, also that Elvis Christmas song!! lol ;)

  7. This is so lovely! I think blue is a very Christmas-y color because it reminds me of cold weather, wrapping paper, and my wonderful Christmas peacock yard decoration. :D

    1. Oh, please send me a photo of your decoration! It sounds fabulous :) And I agree about blue! Zoya Song, for example. And Elvis, like I mentioned in my response to Gwen ;)

  8. I feel so redundant by saying your mani's are so pretty, but they really are! This blue! OMG, it is beautiful!

    1. You're so kind ♥♥ Be redundant all you want, lolol ;) It is a beautiful blue, and it doesn't stain, so there's no reason why it shouldn't be on my nails more often, lol.
