Weekend Revlon and Neuma Small Haul, PLUS LLPT Featured on 15 Minute Beauty!

Hi all!!  I haven't done any serious checkbook damage in a while and I've not gone all out on hair products for even longer.  A little back story on the hair product thing-- I've been seeing the same hairstylist since I was 21 and needed to get a "temporary" black home dye job undone as neatly as possible.  She fixed my screw up with minimal damage and she made a customer for life.

At the time, this meant I bought ALL my hair products from her ever rotating stock, which meant beaucoup bucks on Bedhead (when Bedhead was still good), S-Factor, Colure, and others I'm sure existed but escape my memory.  A few years later, I made the life changing discovery that the humble bar of Dove soap cleaned my face the same way my $30 Shiseido cleanser did (though I do miss using that luxurious line from time to time).  I decided to apply the same principle to my haircare routine and my days of spending $20+ on a bottle of shampoo were over.

Neuma Moisture Intensive haircare

Cut to 2014 and I've been coloring my hair and using my drugstore hair care and it's a little on the dry and lackluster side.  My hairdresser notices this, and instead of attempting yet again to sell me on a $150 color treatment by her, sends me home with samples of products from her newest brand, Neuma, and I fall in love.  My tresses feel like tresses again, soft, silky, shiny, touchable.  I spend the next seven weeks desiring full sized bottles of this stuff and pondering whether or not I will actually drop the amount of money that my hairdresser is asking.

Yesterday was hair trim day and yes, yes I did.  And next time, I'll go through Amazon and save myself 30 or 40%. *facepalm* WHY didn't I think of that before?!

Revlon Moon Candy Satellite and Balm Stain Romantic

I also picked up a couple Revlon goodies I've been interested in-- a Moon Candy nail polish/flakie topper duo, this one in Satellite (photos coming soon to a blog near you... why aren't more people stoked on these things?!), and Revlon Colorburst Balm Stain in Romantic.  I've never tried a stain and this one's nice, a blue red that doesn't really work with my current haircolor shade.  It's pretty nice, nonetheless, providing a sheer but not too sheer swipe of color.  It's great for my makeup minimalist days when I just want a little extra pop of color on my lips because it looks a little bit worn and undone-- totally in a good way.  I just wish it was a little more moisturizing-- swiping regular lip balm over it doesn't distort the color but it does decrease wear time.

Teri Bond's cut and blowdry handiwork (C's mad coloring skills) and Revlon Balm Stain in Romantic in action.

Finally, Christine at 15 Minute Beauty is officially on her maternity leave and asked some of her fellow bloggers to share our weekend makeup kits.  Check out my long winded choices {HERE} and congratulate her on her new little one!

Thank you for reading and enjoy your Sunday!! ♥

  3. Your hair looks great! I like some of the Revlon 'flakie' topcoats, but they're the mylar shards that often don't lie flat on the nail. So, sometimes I succumb to the pretty combinations (like Satellite!) I try to wait for clearance or sales to do so.
