Good morning!! I'm honestly not sure how I feel about the whole indie craze right now, but there is one gal I've bought from a couple times, Ashley of Polished Components. She's in my state and right up the freeway from me, so I've gotten to feel awesome about supporting a local small business when I've bought from her. I like her line because she has a decent collection of stand alone colors, in addition to glitters and special effects topcoats. Sapphire Blue is a stand alone, and is extra special because it was also my first holo. I was just beginning to learn about holos, and I can't even tell you how stoked I was to have one in my hot little hands. lol. Here is is, in two coats.
Sapphire Blue is a faint linear holo, and when it comes to it, I usually say the bigger, the better, but I love the subtlety of this one. The dark cornflower blue base is so gorgeous, and I like how the holo particles accentuate it rather than take over. The brush is small, and the consistency pretty much perfect.
Ashley's etsy shop can be found here. She's on vacation, but updates her facebook page pretty regularly. I haven't seen Sapphire Blue available since I bought it this past February, but I do know she takes special orders.
Thank you for reading!! Have a tasty Thursday. <3
I love blues and I think that is an impressive holo to be from an Indie shop. Seems like most people who label their homemade polish holo just make it glittery. This is very pretty.
ReplyDeleteI think so, too! She said she was going after the look of OPI DS Glamour. I think hers is prettier.
DeleteOh wow, this is really pretty! I love this shade of blue. I'll have to keep an eye on her store. I know some friends who would love this polish!
ReplyDeleteAwesome! I checked in last night; she's got this gorgeous shimmery yellow I reallyreally want, so I hope she restocks soon.
DeleteOh this is GORGEOUS!!
ReplyDeleteIsn't it?! She knocked it out of the park with this one, imo, and I hope she brings it back.
DeleteI just love that you love Polished Components now - I really need to message and see if she can do a coffee grinds for me (must have all the coffee polishes). This blue is so incredible!!
ReplyDeleteTee hee, but of course you do!! I really like French Roast, too. I was looking to get that one and Classic Peep last night, but she's on vacay.
Deletewell.. blue AND holo, you know that I love it!!!! And it's your first one ever!!! so cool =)

Isn't it? :) She did such a nice job with this color.
DeleteI love holos! Am always on the lookout for new indie holo brands!
ReplyDeleteI know you are!! :) She used to have a whole lineup of holo topcoats, but this was the only stand alone holo she made. I hope she does more.
DeleteWhat an awesome microglitter! And I love that you're keeping your nails short!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Cee. They're soooo much easier to deal with. It's time to file down a bit again. :)
DeleteWow it's a blue holo! So gorgeous! :-)

It is beautimous. I love how the holo is complimentary rather than the main event, you know?
DeleteGorgeous! I love that it's a darker blue holo. Personally I really like the scattered holos, so I think this is great.
ReplyDeleteAny holo is a good holo, as far as I'm truly concerned, but yes, the color on this one is gorgeous. ;)
