Sally Hansen Nail Prisms Burgundy Orchid

Ahhh, it's PURPLE day in Bec's Rainbow Favorites challenge, and I can say unequivocally that this is, in fact, my favorite purple, and one of my favorite polishes.  You may or may not have noticed my slight fixation on the discontinued Nail Prism line... well, this one was my first, the one that started it all, and now it's going for double what I paid for it on evil bay and amazon.  Burgundy Orchid, friends.  It's a purple to pink to blue to gold, at some angles, absolutely freakin' gorgeous multichrome.  This is three coats.

The Prisms line does a decent holo and some pretty light and medium shade pearls and duochromes, but their dark duo and multichromes are where they absolutely nail it.  This took half an X Files episode and another half hour of helping C study for this to dry, and it honestly stinks to high heaven, but it's worth it.  It might even be worth shelling out for a backup. ;)

So what other gorgeous purples abound today?

Also, I've been playing around with my layout.  I tried to clean up my format a bit, and I've changed the background a couple times.  I think I like this one.  Any thoughts?  Good?  Bad?  Go back to the bright pink?  Don't give a rip?
Thanks for reading, either way... lol. ;)  Have a marvelous day. :)

    1. Cool, thanks, C! :) I think the black highlights the polish colors better, and the filament stuff is just kind of pretty and fun.

  4. This is pretty! It kindof reminds me of the Models Own Beetlejuice Line. I also like this background - simple, but interesting. I was thinking of changing mine too. Where do you look for your backgrounds? Just find pics on google images? Or are you using a template?

    1. Under Template, then Customize, then Background in the upper left, there's an option to change based on the template you've chosen. There are also lots of other choices if you google downloadable free themes for blogger. Personally, I prefer blogger's "in house" backgrounds, and I'm too lazy to figure out how to use html to completely customize one.

    2. Oh okay, I get it. Yeah, I did mine through a different website and then did the HTML thing. I'm surprised I stuck with this same one for so long. I love change and always find myself moving furniture at my house, etc.

    3. As do I... I should have read your post a little more closely, sorry!! You're way out of my league. I'm all about the template. I don't like change, and I was reticent to do anything, but I was starting to feel my background didn't optimize the polish colors, and that my general appearance was a little busy.
