Zoya Song

Happy hump day, friends :)  I must admit to being a tad underwhelmed by the holiday collections, especially those from Zoya and Butter London... Maybe it's because their respective fall collections spoke so much to me.  At any rate, I have not purchased ONE holiday collection polish this year.  Once December hit, though, Zoya Song suddenly started to sing to me (lolol).

Song is so bright and vibrant, the perfect Christmas blue.  And those little aqua shimmers... so gorgeous!  It's a one-coater, too, which makes up for the fact that it's pretty thick.  Song reminds me of those little blue Christmas lights, blue themed trees, and blue curling ribbon.  Zoya's best holiday color this year isn't even from their holiday collection.

So what about you?  What are your thoughts on the holiday collections?  I know some gals are saying Zoya Ornate is their favorite collection this year.  The fall Zoyas were just so up my alley, I felt like they were a hard act to follow.

  2. ooohhhhh preetttttttyyy! LOL! Lovely shade Liesl! I am loling at the line: Zoya's best holiday color this year isn't even from their holiday collection. So very true. Their holiday collection was a lil' flat (I did get one though).

  3. I adore Zoya Song. I don't have a favorite holiday collection but I love China Glaze Glistening Snow. It's my favorite holiday color from this year.

    1. Glistening Snow is pretty. That collection has stopped me a couple times but since seeing the press releases for the Zoya spring collection and deciding I need at least four, Ima hold out until then on buying stuff. ;D

  4. This blue is beautiful. This year China Glaze had the summer, Halloween and Holiday collections that I was most excited for. And I am interested in the holo collection they are putting out in March.

    1. I also am eager to see the ChG holos for 2013. Like you I went a bit over-board for ChG summer neons - bought 2 of the Halloween ones and sadly only 1 of their holiday ones this year - they were sold out everywhere I went soon as they came out. I have the gold micro glitter already from the ChG exclusive for ULTA from holiday 2011 but I wanted the pinky gold micro glitter.

    2. TOTALLY stoked for the holo collection. I hope they're super holo-y and I hope they do some different colors.

  5. Song is so pretty! I haven't been too impressed lately either?? With my growing collection, there are fewer and fewer polishes that are unique for me. I have liked a lot of the indies lately though!

    1. Maybe that's it. The green one from Ornate and the gold one from OPI Skyfall have both been a little tempting to me, but I have quite a few greens and golds that I'm very happy with and some of them haven't even been worn yet.

  6. I also think this is a great holiday blue too! I did not get on ordering (no stores by me for a good 500 miles that have any Zoya) the fall collection - so when I had to get a few of the holiday ones I put in Song in my cart. I have to pull last yr's Zoya holiday blue - I think it's more dusty than Song is but cannot recall - I got all 3 of those and the bar glitters that coordinated and never wore any of them!

    1. Oh and my fav holiday collection this yr was like you said - going with what many others say - the Zoya collection - I was enamored with all of them but the bar glitter one - like bar glitter but like mine shorter bars and a bit more sparse than this one was...still the rainbow of color of it's holo is stunning and I might get it down the road still...I can always thin it out to make it more sparse. While officially it's not a holiday collection (and I so wish OPI would go back to making a real holiday collection) there are a lot of shades I love in the Skyfall collection....esp the fuchsia/raspberry glass flec and the purple/blue metallic I think is called Tomorrow Never Dies - I don't have my names memorized on that collection yet - oh and the gold flake toppers I am nuts for - I have both the OPI one and the Zoya one.

    2. Last year's holiday collection was cool! I picked up Holly, which I thought was the quintessentially perfect Christmas green, lol. i should do that one next. One of my earlier posts was about Holly and the photos are really blurry, lolol, so it deserves a new post ;)

I loved the OPI Burlesque collection. It was hard to not buy all those up but I stuck with two. Skyfall does have some awesome colors, though. I totally agree that the purple is stunning, and there's a light blue-grey metallic that I really like, too. SO tempted to splurge on the OPI gold flake! I'm so bummed that I didn't take advantage of Zoya's presale when they did the set of three for, like, $24 or something... Though honestly, I'd rather have OPI's based on the name, alone. ;)

  7. Zoya Song looks lovely on ya!!! Had to take out mine instantly :-)!!! Would you allow me to put a link to your Blog when I write about it? I did not buy any Christmas Collections either - I was tempted though by the Zoya's - BUT I ordered some Christmas warerdecals ;-)

    1. Oh, by all means! You don't even have to ask :) I can't wait to see it on you! And I've heard water decals are the way to go (rather than stickers, right?). I should see what they're all about.

  8. I still can't believe I haven't tried this polish yet!!! It's sitting forgotten in my (huge) pile of untrieds... I agree with other girls, Ornate collection is just fabulous and it is easily one of my favorites this year!!

  9. Song is beautiful and it looks fantastic on you! :-)
As for me, I'm a big fan of the OPI Skyfall and Zoya Ornate collections, but nothing has compared to Zoya's Surf Collection. That is my favorite from this past year. I love every single one of the colors and have been wearing them all through summer, fall, and now winter. :-)

    1. Surf is a great collection! I ended up buying four out of six of them, and can see myself wearing each of them out... I'm totally a seasonal color wearer so they have to wait until spring for me, lol... except maybe Carly.
